Its a gaint jobs program..They produce nothing, they generate NO money, they are nothing but a drain on society, much more of a drain than teachers who educate our children.

At least it will make it easier to lay them off when Panetta & Obama start slashing the military.

What y'all aren't getting is that when these guys retire they'll be making more money on their retirement than they were when they were active duty!

Does anyone see a problem with this?

the only drain on anything is you. As much as this is BS with this retirement issue, especially since a senior NCO would not get that kind of retirement with the same years.

The Military is nothing close to a jobs program, but then i would expect nothing less from someone like you. Jobs program means it for everyone. The Military is far from that. It is selective to who goes in. They have to meet the requirements, weight standards etc. Not the job of the military to generate money, our job is alot more technical than that.

FH, they are already retired, they will not be able to cut thier pension. It is guaranteed already by law. The bill that was passed that gave it to them like that should never been passed. This was the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill. But those still serving this can be resolved by passing a new law that would put it back to what the percentages were before they passed it. It would put the amount down for a 4 star somewhere around140000.00 a year. That is still a lot less than most Union bosses and CEO's and congress persons that serve alot less time.

Union Boss's pensions!? Mu ha ha ha ha

Yeah they are so huge..Like $1450/month

And you're pension can't be taken away? lol We can take it away tommarow- Those teachers in Wisconsin actually contributed portions of their wages towards their retirments for 30 years and it got taken away- You've contributed nothing and If there's one thing I learned in my life it's that pensions can be taken away with a swipe of the pen. Overnight. If we are going after government workers, teachers, Social Security and Unions- Then we gotta go after you'rs too Navy..Everythings on the table and we just can't afford to take care of people cradle to gave anymore, sorry
