Obamacare Violates The Separation Of Church & State?

Also from your article:

The Catholic providers offered to refer same-sex couples to other agencies (as they had been doing for unmarried couples), but that was not acceptable to the state, Mr. Marlowe said.

So it would seem that it is acceptable to refer unmarried couples to a different agency because the Catholic Church has religious objections to unmarried couples, but not same-sex couples for the same reason. It would seem that the Catholic Church is doing a better job of equal treatment than the government itself is. All who establish a household outside of the moral teachings of the Church are treated the in the same manner. They are referred to another agency. The Church did not refuse to refer homosexuals to another agency, and thus treat them unequally from unmarried couples. So it would seem that it is the state itself that allows for unequal treatment, not the Catholic Church. Unmarried couples are allowed by the state to be treated in an different manner than their same sex counterparts are with regards to adoption services provided through Catholic Charities. Very interesting. Thank you for the article Soulshiner - it was very enlightening. It clearly shows that the Catholic Church is not in any manner dictating anything - it is assisting those that it is unable to help for religious reasons to avail themselves of the services provided with government funds regardless of who they are and regardless of why, for religious reasons, the Catholic Church is unable to assist them directly. That doesn't sound like either the unmarried couples or the civilly united homosexual couples have had what they can do dictated to them by the Catholic Church.

$50 a month for birth control? Not exactly a budget breaker. $12.50 a week. Probably spend more on Starbucks or booze.

It is if you don't have it... And you can take your usual condescending and elitist extrapolations and generalizations of the people who need it and shove them in the usual place.

No one "needs" contraception LJ - it is an elective choice that one makes for themselves. They can, if they choose, accomplish the same result, not becoming pregnant, simply by choosing to act differently. Are we next going to require that elective breast enhancement because a lady wants a larger set or elective rhinoplasty because they don't care for the shape of their nose to be no cost to the consumer as well?

thank you photo fish. I would like to do the research for myself, but on a cell phone it's challenging at best. I can only assume that TLGOPT just looked up the names and didn't read any of the information. Otherwise he/she could have shared that info in less time than it took to make the snarky post.

Reproductive services can be found for free. If you can afford it, then there is a sliding scale in some places. What makes you think that you DESERVE reproductive services for free if you can afford it yourself? And nothing is free. If an health insurance company offers reproductive services.. SOMEONE PAYS FOR IT. Tell me... how are you entitled to reproductive services on demand?

Chill out TLGOPT...I didnt claim any of those things...I asked you a simple question on something you posted. You made the claim these services were free...you got caught misrepresenting the facts. That's no reason to attack me for asking the question.
