Fred, what exactly have the "republicans running congress" DONE to ease unemployment?

Even as a retiree I'm better off than I was in 2008... why would I want to change what works?
Talk about "head in the sand politics"- if all you lefties really think that this country is better off than it was 4 years ago you all are really ignorant indeed.
He asked if *I* am better off than I was four years ago. I replied I am. I think everyone who replied was talking about their own situation, based on the question that was asked.

The Republicans have held up most everything they could in an attempt to assure Obama fails... but he is succeeding in spite of them...not because of them. I believe Americans are having an acute case of buyers remorse over putting tea party Republicans in congress.

But businesses know they can start to hire because the Republicans are restoring a business friendly enviroment. Jobs are created not through goverment infrastructure plans like the bridge to nowhere & bankrupt green energy firms, they are created by making conditions welcoming to business. Look at how the non-union Republican South is attracting automotive companies from around the world, bringing jobs to the US, wheras the Dem & union dominated Detroit continues to lose jobs.

Look at how the non union south has higher unemployment rates than the unionized north. How does that fit with your theory.....it seem the blue states are doing better on the whole than red states, even Ohio and Michigan are doing better than Georgia and the Carolinas.

Oh....and that bridge to nowhere....that was a Republican earmark for a Republican state....I agree....the spendthrift Republicans should not be voted back into power.
No, we're not going to become Greece. That's a simplistic assessment.
That's like saying if we vote in some guy who says the United States government should be guided by the Bible and not the Constitution, we could become Iran.

6 of the top ten states on your list are red states. As far as being better of than I was 4 years ago, on paper I looke better but then my standard of living didn't go up everyoneleses went down.
So, "on paper" you're better, but you measure your improvement by "everyone else"? Sounds to me like you need to examine your definitions of "keeping up with the Jones'"....
