I can trust them as much as I could trust Bush's numbers when he was losing 750,000/month but hiding the numbers for those that had dropped off the rolls.

This was in response to Fred's claim the the southern states without unions were doing better than the northern states...... Nit pick all you want....Fred's statement was wrong, but it seems to be a popular lie within the conservative ranks. CA and NV last time I looked were in the west......but even if you include them, Fred's statement is still a lie. I apologize for using the terms red states & blue states, apparently you were unable to discern that the discussion was about northern and southern states, and neither of those states qualify.

Nice way to add to the discussion.

I thought so too....I could have gotten snarky about Fred's post that accused me of not reading my own list and misinterpreting it's content, but I decided not to rise to the bait and just state my observation. Thank you for noticing my restraint.

Thanks for proving the conservatives point. Then we are in trouble if you can't even trust Obama's numbers.

And I thought it was the conservatives that cared only about themselves. Don’t mind the massive debt the current administration is saddling the next generations, (let me save you a few keystrokes, yes Bush also added to the debt.) or the overreaching massive federal bureaucracy and loss of liberties and civil rights that are being eroded by current administration with their executive orders and czars.

So you are agreeing with us that Bush was bad but Obama is much worse?
And part of the lost interest is the fault of the Fed and Bernanke who think lowering interest rates will prime the economic pump. (Not this time.)

Yep, really disappointed in LJ and Archer. I guess they are going to just retire and live the good life off SS and Medicare, and the heck with everything else, let the country go bankrupt. LOL What was that quote? "I got mine, screw everyone else" LOL :)

I think it is more like this, if a Democrat is spending us into Grecian ruin, it is all good, wheras if "W" is spending, it can only be considered evil, no matter if it is for No Child Left Behind, a bipartisan bill dreamed up by Ted Kennedy & "W", or massive amounts of medical aid sent to Africa in the form of AIDS relief and vaccine programs.

Now, all of a sudden after not giving a sh*t about all those in the middle and lower classes who are suffering, and trying to convince us that "compassionate conservatism" isn't anything but a joke, you presume to assume that I only care about myself? rofllol  rofllol

Sorry if you didn't get the answer you wanted to your question... But the question WAS: "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" And my answer is "YES". Spare me your sudden interest in all of the other 99% that you didn't give a sh*t about for the last 4 years.

No, you already agreed with me that it was the Bush tax-codes that we are still under... Thanks...

Uh Joe.....I am retired and living the good life with the help of Social Security and Medicare.....you have a problem with that?

Obviously answering the question "are you better off now than 2008" with a "yes", is really upsetting some of you. Why don't you want people to be doing better now? Why get all snarky when someone admits that this president has not ruined their life? Why are you all wishing we were destitute? what kind of people are you? Certainly not compassionate.

The only time I read any of you referring to the millions of unemployed, the need for assistance for those Americans in need, or anything about ordinary citizens of this country is when you want to bash Obama or the Democrats. Otherwise you appear not to care one whit for your fellow Americans. Spare us your phony concern.
