Gas Prices Could Drop 50 Cents By June, Experts Say

You liberals can keep on spinning this, but more oil pumped into the US is good. Less oil pumped into the US raises oil prices, and then gas prices. Simple basic economic knowledge.

If the oil goes to China, Boehner would still win, correct? But American consumers lose. And Sec'y Chu is secretly happy that Americans have to drive less because they can't afford it.

Keep Spinning, sparkie... But it's still not going to lower US gas prices... Us "liberals" apparently understand the fact that the oil is not destined for the US market better than the Righties that keep regurgitating your talking-points.

I guess you missed the part about:

TransCanada also reported that instead of reducing fuel prices for Americans, it will increase them because the pipeline will drain off oil reserves

How precisely does oil passing through the US lower gas prices if the oil goes to China?

Let me explain this one last time. It is cheaper for Americans to buy the oil and refine it in the states as it comes in from Canada than it would be for Canada to leave it in the ground, or send it directly to China by expanding their pipelines to the Pacific.

Keystone pipeline delivering oil to Texas?
If you were an oil company, would you rather sell it to Americans or spend the money to load it onto oil tankers and ship it to China via the Panama Canal or around the tip of South America before selling it to Chinese? Americans would even be likely to get a discount because the American oil company doesn't have to pay the freight shipping costs and time. Sell it to Americans, make you money right away and save on freight costs. Sell it to the Chinese and wait for it to be delivered and pay the freight. Those super tankers aren't cheap.

Comprende?

That's a swell hypothetical...But that's not what's being proposed.

Cripes Fred. You don't think they factor in the cost of shipping in their total price like EVERY OTHER business and adjust them accordingly?

Yes, and they won't need to do that for American customers.

Or do you think they will charge all their customers for shipping. Chinese refinieries pays the same price as the Nebraska refinieries?

Why do you think Colorado has cheaper gasoline prices last month than the rest of the country, because it was cheaper refining it here, than shipping it to other countries and states.

Is Canada lying? Why would they say the US wont be getting that oil, that it will go to China if it isn't true? Especially knowing that keystone would have a better chance of being built if they promised the oil to the US?

Yes, did you miss the part where...

TransCanada also reported that instead of reducing fuel prices for Americans, it will increase them because the pipeline will drain off oil reserves

That's TransCanada... If they issue a different statement, I promise you'll be the first to know... But in the meantime which part of:

...do you not get?

I get it. That explains why so many d's voted for it. They want higher gas prices.
