Arianna Huffington: President's bin Laden ad "despicable"

How much heavy lifting did Obama do other than giving his ok? Did he risk anything other than his political future? No, the real heros should not be stepped on by a politcian who's using their courage and accomplishments to better his chances of re-election.

Obama is making a big splash with this campaign ad... swimming with the seals...

Will The Navy SEALs Swift Boat Obama? - The operators' resentment is real. And their criticism could undermine the president’s clearest-cut victory, the slaying of America's most notorious enemy.

Most active duty SEALs were reluctant to go on the record venting or praising their boss, but one of the most interesting responses I received from an operator was to direct me to Leif Babin, a SEAL who left active duty last year.

Babin, who runs the consulting firm Echelon Front, wrote a little noticed op-ed in Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal four months ago. The headline: OBAMA EXPLOITS THE NAVY SEALS. Babin took aim at “the president and his advisors, writing: “It is infuriating to see political gain put above the safety and security of our brave warriors and our long-term strategic goals.”

Little wonder. Obama cares nothing about the military unless it can be used to his advantage.

I see our conservative friends are having sour grapes for breakfast this morning. I think the ad was well done. The Republicans are more than happy to use Obama's perceived failures in their ads, then squeal like little piggies if Obama uses one of his accomplishments in his own ad.

Their feigned outrage will backfire, the longer they keep objecting to the ad the more it reminds voters of Obama's foreign policy success. Keep up your whining, it just makes you all look petty.

I think it would have been a good ad if it stayed positive - but when it went negative against Romney it sunk right down to the 'cheap politics' level.

Boasting about his accomplishments would be a good thing for Obama to do, but I'm afraid he doesn't have much ammunition :)

You make it sound as if the SEALS just decided to start looking for Osama and then went out one day and killed him.

The search for Osama bin Laden was put a back burner by Bush after he got tired of being asked "When are we going to get bin Laden?" and it took the next president to make it a priority, risk fallout with Pakistan over our going in without their permission, and political fallout if the mission had failed.

"I think them taking credit for the right decision is entirely appropriate," Romney said in an interview with "CBS This Morning."

If it had been Bush you'd all be crowing about what a great decision he made. Sound grapes.

So one guy writes an op-ed and all the seals hate Obama? They are paid to do a job and they did it well. Obama took a lot of risk with the decision and deserves credit. He risked his political future and another front in a war with Pakistan. I guess you all think its too bad that he got bin Laden.

OH NO!!!! He risked his political future...what a joke. Then he gets on the shoulders of the military who too took the real risks and waves his flag of accomplishment. F#@$ Obama.

You would have been crowing about what an accomplishment it was if Bush could of got him. He didn't. Obama did. That's the fact, Jack!

This is about a political ad...maybe you could dig one up that Bush made that could prove a precident for this kind of pathetic ad? I'll be waiting in anticipation. :)

And I did give Obama credit for giving the ok, but giving the ok is not the same as sacrificing your life.....in fact, it's not even in the same universe.

There is no precedent. Bush failed at everything he did, while Obama got Osama.
