Yes, I realize that is your "talking point, and you're sticking to it."
Which would YOU rather be?...A person who lives in a country which covers ALL of its citizens--even if the "occasional wait" story is true? (which it isn't...)
OR, a person that lives in a country that if you don't have any money or any coverage, gets NO health care, but if you're rich, you get the "best that money can buy"?
Don't bother to answer...I already know what the sociopaths prefer.
The "long wait for healthcare" issue is very regional. In the beginning, yes the waits were long....how could they not be when they added 30% more people to an existing system? Every year it improves and those areas understaffed by medical personnel are doing the best they can, and the waits are getting shorter. I hear few complaints from my family or friends there....they get what they consider is great care and that care is available to every citizen. What a novel idea. These are very conservative right wing folks...like the rest of my family here in the states....but universal healthcare is considered a conservative issue there....it keeps the middle class from having to pay more for healthcare to subsidize the poor and indigent. They pretty much laugh at us here for being so backwards on the issue of healthcare.

Actually I'd rather live in a country where people don't expect to be entitled to stuff they didn't earn.
Anyone can get health care here now- no hospital will turn you away.
But to expect the best health care and have "someone else" pay for it - and then complain about it - well that's just nasty. Health care is not a right - it's a service we pay for.
We are not entitled to health care- just like we are not entitled to a nice car unless we pay fot it- or a big house, or the best resturant food.
In a market society- we pay for these services, we don't expect it just because some other people can afford it.
I only expect to get what I can pay for- nothing more.
not me but BM insulted my Dad because he worked in a factory. Elitist loser.
You bastard Bear!
I will not address peanut any more on this- I asked him to prove where I insulted his dad- (which I did not do). He has punked out and just comes back with the assertion that I insulted - and I did not insult.
I don't care if his dad worked in a chinese sweatshop- that isn't an excuse for him being an a**hole.
But he is showing his covetousness, and that is low class.
Isn't it interesting that in Canada people "don't get what they don't pay for"...They pay for it. And WE are the ones who are the Neanderthals.
And I think we ARE entitled to good health care...And I DO think we should all pay for it. I don't care about your selfish "market-driven" health model.
