I'm just reading this for the first time, but unless I missed something, not even the two links that Viking gave ever said that President Obama was going to France for the 4th.
The first one just talked about the Obama campaign going there for money and that George Clooney would headline (now I see it might be in Geneva). No mention of Obama being there, and if so, wouldn't he headline?
The second link specifically said that President Obama wasn't going to be there. And I have no idea about why there would be any outrage about celebrities going to France on July 4th to campaign for Obama. I'd guess that kind of thing happens in most campaigns.
