No one—really no one—anywhere on the political spectrum has the courage to speak out about the madness of unleashed guns and what they do to American life. That includes the President, whose consoling message managed to avoid the issue of why these killings take place.

Of course, we don’t know, and perhaps never will, what exactly “made him” do what he did; but we know how he did it. Those who fight for the right of every madman and every criminal to have as many people-killing weapons as they want share moral responsibility for what happened last night—as they will when it happens again. And it will happen again.

Man o Man, was waiting for the nutjobs to come out against 2nd amendment rights. So you start it. This has nothing to do with gun control, politics, religion or anything other than a nutjob planning a mass murder. So if we go by your pure ignorance and stupidity, then spoons and forks make people fat, cars need to be outlawed since they make folks drink and drive and kill people. Could go on but I am done with your stupidity. For you to even bring it up at this time shows your ignorance.

What a crock. Had the masses been armed, it could have been stopped.

IN NOVEMBER 2014, WE HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND ONE-THIRD OF THE SENATE! DONT BLOW IT!

“When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only whit man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.” Indian Chief Two Eagles

A gun is a tool, in the right hands it does good, in the wrong we see the results.
A hammer, a screwdriver, an axe, all are tools, all can be used for evil.

I carry because a cop is too heavy.

Way too simplistic. North Aurora has crime and guns. Denver just had a police officer shot at the City Park. Where was the outrage then???? Just because this kid did this here and shot many people they are going to use this just like they used Katrina and the Colorado Fires as proof of global warming. I don't respect ANYONE that uses a tragedy for proof of their cause. I believe there should be some controls on automatic weapons. I think the NRA is way too stubborn with their right to bear any arms. Technology has made weapons more deadly and the NRA should catch up however the gun control people are crazy if they think having no guns will prevent this and really, truth be told, putting controls on automatic weapons would not keep people from getting them.

I am all for a debate but I won't listen to ANYONE that uses this as an excuse for gun control. We should be talking about this after emotions are cooler and be logical about it. And it is cruel to do this to the people that lost someone in that theater. Using people for your cause is wrong.

Edited to add- to be clear. I think debating on a forum is great what I object to is people in the media using this for ratings or their cause.

Oh, yeah that is all we need is a wild west gun fight in theater with 200 kids. Concealed weapons carriers are the only ones I would trust.

The problem is the crazy people that this modern culture currently produces. Liberals do not offer suggestions on how to change our society so that it does not produce these crazies. The liberal assumption is that guns produce these crazies. They say that if the crazy did not have a gun, they would not be crazy and all would be well.

The liberal idea is that no guns equals perfect mental health. How wonderful.

I've never heard that assumption. It doesn't even make sense. But I consider the source.

What I believe is that guns enable crazies. Is there really a reason that people need to be able to buy a 100-round magazine drum?

And show me a mass murder who used a spoon or a fork.

To have an automatic weapon requires a class 3 license. I have not heard that this shooter had an automatic weapon or was licensed for such, but I have not kept up with the latest news or facts.
