and you think dowaliby or wissell do? or are you looking at jones maybe?

being a county commissioner at this time is a thankless job. all the commissioners will get hammered because there isn't enough money to go around. so far sam is the only one who has talked extensively about the finances and condition of the county.

i have sat in on the current county commissioners meeting and i have to say tht they are dedicated but are spendthrifts with out money. dowaliby has just gone along with tighe and hodges. no backbone at all.

a friend sent lillian wissell an email about conflict of interest issues and she hasn't responded. she has lost 5 of our votes.

sam is willing to look at all the issues and weigh them and then make an informed decision. looks like more backbone than dowaliby and wissell.

bumper sticker - honk if you will pay my mortgage

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson

Hey you guys! I am still here and yes I have done some waffling since the assembly however I have come straight out and said as much when answering questions. My statements at the assembly came from a lack of understanding the full picture on the jail. I have since been at the jail, taken a tour and spent 6 hours going over facts and figures with the officials there. I now know the facts and have changed my ideas. I see nothing wrong with becoming more informed and changing the way you look at something especially if you find out facts. I have been open and honest about all I have said. As far as backbone, I believe I have more than any of the other candidates and the current commissioners. I will not take crap from anyone and deserve more respect than you are giving. I hope to have the opportunity to get to know all of you alot better and show you that I mean business. This county needs a leader not a pushover and I am not one to be pushed around, ask anyone who knows me well! Thanks Samantha

You got my vote, and for those that want wissell in there, lets see her hubby is the county acessor, then her as county commissioner, that is a huge conflict of interest.

Ms. Bertin.

I posted these questions for Mrs. Wissell. If you would be so kind, could you answer as well.

Mrs. Wissell,

Thank you for posting and answering here.

I have some related questions.

Would you be willing to push forward a vote and vote for an ordinance that made homeowner participation in the building department permit process voluntary. This could be coupled with a mandatory disclosure to future buyers and still come with simple planning board disclosure via a plot plan for taxation.

This is a private property issue in which Park County is even recognized (criticized) region wide. One should have a right to build a home on their own land, not for public use, without having to meet the expectations of individuals they do not know. Not everyone is hiring a contractor. Most of us are not ignorant, we understand how to build or if we do not know something we know how to hire a contractor just like we know how to hire a mechanic. Most of us could look at a stairway and know if it was repaired well, most of us cannot tell if our brakes were even fixed once we pull out of the mechanic, why such a disparity coupled with repeated searches of one's home? There is no local regulation of your mechanic, and I am not suggesting any, but the risks are far greater.

Also I would request the right to build a barn prior to a home on land smaller than 35 acres. This is done in many places with no issues. 10,20 or 30 acre landowners should not be regulated into 2nd class citizens.

And if these are not issues you would be willing to address, what do you mean by increasing personal property rights?

Thank you.

Q--Commissioner Candidate Bertin or other candidates, please
Answer.

1.Presently BOCC is allowing lots to be split creating a
rental community in Bailey, and that type of construction
continues. Do you agree or how will you stop it.

2.PK county--only county in Colorado and nearby states to
allow "ridgeline" homes to be built blocking homeowners
views. Lots made up from Remnant lots. Do you agree
or how will you stop it.
3. Colorado counties abiding by state stautes obtain road
and bridge funds via homeowner taxes to maintain
a safe infrastructure. Will you take the county back
down that path again.Roads graded every 6-8 weeks-typical
pattern maintenance in other nearby mountain counties and
states.
4. How many millions are you willing to build a Telecomm-
unication building , aka The Bunker.
5. How many millions are you willing to spend on a large, lighted
loud Sports Stadium/Complex in the middle of a once quiet
built up residential mountain neighborhood where the
majority(99%+) Do Not Want it. BOCC third attempt in
last 15 years.
6. Shouldn't all the Grants be during a time of prosperity.
And shouldn't those Grants be listed publicly along with
the credit card spending.
7. Court records indicate a "blacklist" of citizens who disagree
with county policies. Will you maintain that list or
abolish said list along with their keepers of "the list".

Ive tried all sources, never a reply from the republican candidates.

Only question replies from Monica Jones, the one they will have to face.

Yes, your right she did respond. But I didn't ask her to respond to
the word "Respond", just answer the questions, given the time
to research my questions regarding matters of concern for the
taxpayers since time questions presented. Welcome to the world
of politics.

Thanking you and candidate Bertin in advance.
