Ready for Gulf War III? Just in time for November...

But it's not Obama pulling the strings, it's Israel.

Armada of British naval power massing in the Gulf as Israel prepares an Iran strike

Battleships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers and submarines from 25 nations are converging on the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in an unprecedented show of force as Israel and Iran move towards the brink of war.

Western leaders are convinced that Iran will retaliate to any attack by attempting to mine or blockade the shipping lane through which passes around 18 million barrels of oil every day, approximately 35 per cent of the world’s petroleum traded by sea.

A blockade would have a catastrophic effect on the fragile economies of Britain, Europe the United States and Japan, all of which rely heavily on oil and gas supplies from the Gulf.

The United States has never changed presidents during a war, from what I remember reading.

From the article...

In preparation for any pre-emptive or retaliatory action by Iran, warships from more than 25 countries, including the United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will today begin an annual 12-day exercise [/b].

Key word "annual." Nothing to see here. (except Raees making something out of nothing).

FDR > Truman during WWII.

Truman > Eisenhower during Korea.

JFK > LBJ > Nixon during Vietnam.

Ah, you believe them when they say that, do you?

How convenient they'll all be massed in the Gulf as rumors fly that Israel will launch a strike before U.S. election day.

Truman and LBJ weren't running for re-election. FDR and JFK died in office. They weren't voted out of office. I should have clarified my comment to indicate we never vote out a president during war.

You are correct about this but this might have been just due to chance or a lousy opponent. Lincoln almost lost his job but troops in the field kept him in office. No one was going to unseat FDR. I am guessing nothing will be resolved with Iran until after November. The powers in Iran like to rattle sabres but they won't attack Israel openly. They prefer to use surrogates like Hamas. One other big concern for Iran right now? Syria. Assad is a valuable ally.

Wait a minute. LBJ didn't run because he would have lost. Vietnam War was still happening. He lost the primary in New Hampshire that basically ensured he would lose the nomination.

Truman didn't run again because he didn't think a president should have more than two elected terms, or 10 years, in office, even though he was exempt from the 22nd Amendment.

Doesn't change the fact they didn't run and lose.

And how does two four year terms equal 10 years?

Dude, you've got this backwards. Iran is not going to attack Israel. Nuttinhoney and Israel will strike Iran's nuclear works, according to those in the know.
