Good review of the Vice Presidential debate here...Last night during the Vice Presidential Debates Paul Ryan tried to have an adult conversation about our nation's problems. It was a futile effort. By CNN's account, Joe Biden interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times. When ole Joe wasn't interrupting he was smirking and rolling his eyes and his facial expressions were that of someone bordering on senile dementia.

“By the way, they talk about this great recession like it fell out of the sky–like, ‘Oh my goodness, where did it come from?’” Biden said. “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card, at the same time, put a prescription drug plan on the credit card, a trillion dollar tax cut for the very wealthy.”
“I was there, I voted against them,” Biden continued. “I said, no, we can’t afford that.”
Then Sen. Biden voted for the Afghanistan resolution on Sept. 14, 2001 which authorized “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.”
And on Oct. 11, 2002, Biden voted for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq, according to the Washington Post.

I guess if you think that anger, arrogance, disrespect and sarcasm are what wins debates then Biden won it by a country mile. Interesting to see that such behavior is what fires up the "progressive" base isn't it? You know, the folks who are always saying that the discourse needs to be more civil? What does it say then when uncivil behavior is what it takes to fire them up?towermonkey wrote: 'Where's Rodney when we need him... Biden won the debate hands down. Biden needed a clear victory in the minds of the electorate that isn't hanging out in the echo chambers, something he obviously failed to achieve given what CNN is reporting. 60% of those watching judged Ryan to be qualified for the position he is seeking. That speaks volumes. Ryan did his job, he convincingly presented himself as someone capable of taking the reins if necessary.
The only people giving Biden the edge in the debate are the Democratic shills, who also gave the edge to Obama in his first debate with Romney. Ryan didn't bury Biden the way that Romney buried Obama, but he didn't have to. To the electorate he displayed competency, poise and intelligence and showed that he was, at the very least, as competent to hold the office as the person currently holding the office is. That was his job last night and he did it very well indeed.
