My guess? It'll take the Amendment 2 course. A group of folks that want to preserve federal supremacy will challenge it in court, an injunction will be issued while it is litigated to death and when the smoke clears we'll have a useless bunch of words cluttering up our State constitution.
Mind you, I voted in favor of it, but I harbor no illusions about what will happen to it at least in the short term. With any luck, the citizens of Colorado will then begin to realize why centralization of power at the federal level is a bad idea and the pot supporters will join hands with those seeking a return to the republican form of government envisioned by Jefferson instead of those seeking to fundamentally transform our republic into a democracy.
I'm in this for the long haul. The results of one or two elections are little more than bumps in the road on a journey to a better future for the posterity.
You know what? I was fishing this summer and a kid I was talking to about fishing was standing there smoking a joint. I could smell it and it made me sick for a while. So, seriously I wonder about second hand smoke.
And don't tell me MJ is not addictive it is. I know many people that have trouble after they get off of it. But fine, I don't care if some want to be high all day.
