The feds are power hungry. They'll make it their business.

The think they can tell us how to live our lives, and use taxes and subsidies to enforce their opinion. They don't like it when a state gets all uppity and tells them to take their federal laws and go play somewhere else.

They will squash am. 64, or at the very least they will force modifications and compromises that make it completely unrecognizable as legalization.

They may just ignore it. That is pretty much what they have been doing since the MMJ was passed. They ignored it unless there were other felonies involved...such as guns or other drugs, or a lot of MJ being sold. They have pretty much ignored the individual user.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Fat chance.
Looks like Governor Hicky is tryin to find a way to snuff out that bowl. So the legal action begins...
He's lookin to talk to the feds today about what can be done.

Our government at work- they are scrambling to find a way to stomp on our newest state constitutional right as we speak.

(PS- I can't and wont smoke the stuff because I am tested by my employer- or should I say their insurance company)- but I will still stand up for our constitutional rights no matter what.

Hickenlooper reaching out to feds on Colorado marijuana legalization

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper said Wednesday he is trying to speak with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder about how the federal Justice Department will respond to Colorado's legalizing of marijuana.

Hickenlooper said he hopes to set up a phone call with Holder as early as Thursday to hear the federal government's position. He said he doubted the Justice Department would respond passively to the passage of Amendment 64, which legalizes limited possession and commercial sales of marijuana.

The federal government may go to court to block the new law from being implemented, but officials have not yet said precisely how they would respond.

"The Department of Justice's enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act remains unchanged," local U.S. attorney's office spokesman Jeff Dorschner wrote in a statement. "In enacting the Controlled Substances Act, Congress determined that marijuana is a Schedule I controlled substance. We are reviewing the ballot initiative and have no additional comment at this time."

John Suther is also discussing this with the Feds.

I would be willing to settle for a deal that no state or local police would arrest you for possesion. It would take a lot of DEA agents in Colorado to control MJ if they could.

Immigration vs. MJ? In Arizona, Holder says only the Feds can round up illegals since it isn't a state law, but if the state legalizes it, their LEO's can't enforce federal law right?

BTW all you hippies out there- I have heard several reports that Utah and Kansas cops and state troopers are searching all vehicles they stop with Colorado license plates coming and going.

Of course this is illegal- but law enforcement dosn't care about that- they will search your car. Everyone with a CO plate is suspect. Never mind that it's not even legal till the Hickylooper affirms the vote- they have already started searching.

Beware- don't take the dope with you while traveling.
