Newtown CT Takes Wayne LaPierre's Advice

Per Breitbart, after the NRA idea of protecting our children with armed guards was ridiculed by the Lefty media, the town of the shooting is going forward with armed guards.

Sometime logic wins out over anti-NRA talking points.

I'm surprised the parents aren't demanding the schools wait for more gun laws and "gun free zone" signs to work.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Armed guard stopped shooter at Atlanta middle school

An armed guard at Atlanta's Price Middle School stopped the student who shot and wounded a 14-year-old in the neck before anyone else was shot, police said. Officials have not said whether the guard is regularly stationed at Price, but they have confirmed he was off-duty at the time of Thursday's shooting. Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said the school security officer "was able to subdue the individual and have him … drop his weapon."

Maybe LaPierre was right all along.

I would have been MORE impressed with the NRA position IF they had also put their FULL weight (and money) behind comprehensive and extensive background checks......(as along with this 'arming" the teachers)......it's going to require
alot of manpower/resources/money to adequately address the loop holes and the INEFFICIENT bkcheck process. WHO will provide the money???? Is the NRA willing to step up and assist in THAT endeavor????

Why should they provide background checks? The current panic buying of guns and ammo have been helping out the American economy. Did you know every new gun and round of ammo sold are taxed by the Feds 10%? Looks like the Feds have plenty of money for a simple background check. 10% on a $1500 AR should more than cover the fees. And the majority of new guns are made in America, employing American machinists and assemblers.

probably need to do MORE RESEARCH Fred.......the backlog is too much for the present staff to handle and they are asking
for more resources/manpower/money......(1st bolded) as for the 2nd bolded........the "gun run" is making the CORPORATION
OBSCENELY RICH AND NOT THE MACHINISTS......

Those machinists are getting a lot of overtime and many small merchants are making money selling guns and ammo. My local gun shop is having a record year while Barnes and Noble is closing shops.

How does that make the NRA responsible to assist with the funding?

the "gun run" is making the CORPORATION OBSCENELY RICH AND NOT THE MACHINISTS......

That being the case, why aren't you calling for those corporations to assist with the funding?

Or am I misunderstanding you?

All the backgroud checks in the world wouldn't stop most of these masacres though. if you want to stop the killings NOW, you have to defend against the killers NOW.

Let's see:

Columbine - shooters got guns from others who passed background checks.

Aurora Theater - shooter passed background checks.

Newtown - shooter stole guns from his mother who passed background checks.

New York (firefighter ambush) - shooter got guns from neighbor who passed background checks.

Hmmm, how did the background checks help? How would 'universal' background checks have helped?
