Go ahead and fear the boogeyman even though there is not one scintilla of evidence that gun registries are going to be slipped in. Since the legislation is going to pass, we shall see who is correct.

IMHO.....read the bill (still a bill - not at all a "law" of course)and All amendments.....someday will be posted by the State......the devil is always in the details. IF someone on this board knows where to obtain in real time CO bills and amendments many would be grateful. We are limited to the "press" and their redacted approaches to influence opinion unfortunately at this time.
ALL too often the legislature will insert language giving various jurisdictions the power to develop rules of implementation with no oversight.......the clerks at lower local levels in those cases essentially make their rules to suit thir agendas. Watch for this manipulation also.
The precise definition of "magazine" is also of interest.......a good engineer can configure a feed reservoir in a thousand ways.....bet the bill has not really addressed this. Also engraving anything on metal can be ground off with a Dremel.....a waste of time. This exercise is a Draconian clusterf_____.
The bottom line is that the laws fed or state will probably be tossed at the Supremes level.....they did so in the past. The Second is safe......NRA has deep pockets and will staff this well. Both CO DEM Senators should pay close attention.......one is up for reelection 2014. Also all CO State legislators may want to think this over very carefully.....ALL elected officials have exposure on the Second issue......none are exempt.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
jf1acai....did a search on the page you recommended......used "gun control"....no documents.......these search code configurations are not helpful and no real time info.........not at all VOTER friendly( wonder why). Thanks for the input.

You will not find anything under "gun control" since those terms are not in any of the bills. I use this link and either scan the headings or type in the bill number. It gives all versions of a bill, votes on it, and current status.

Really, a youtube video from the NRA loonies is the best "source" of information that you? Talk about an organization built on scare tactics.

If a registratry is not created how do you expect the government to enforce private party background checks before a private party sale can be completed?

Umm, if you actually read the legislation, it clearly states the process, as I have earlier described it above. There are no government registries, there are no government records of transactions, the only parties that keep records of the transaction are the sellers. The government does NOT "enforce private party background checks be fore a private party sale can be completed". It is up to the seller to do a background check on the purchaser. If a seller fails to do so, then the seller has committed a crime and if that crime is later discovered, then the seller is liable for a misdemeanor and also liable for civil damages for any harm that the purchaser did with the firearm. But of course this was completely described in my earlier posts.
Despite the scare tactics of the NRA and other posters, there is no registry, nor will there ever be a registry. But since it is difficult to argue with actual facts, some have to fall back on false statements and scare tactics.

The police that are to enforce this mess can barely keep up with simple traffic law......cops are not lawyers by along shot (pardon the pun). So far seems there are so many exceptions that few will ever be prosecuted......EXCELLENT !! We found out during prohibition laws not supported by the people can never be enforced.......MJ is a current example on the table. Americans seen inept in so many ways........God help us.
