Pretty insensitive of you...cancer doesn't distinguish between good and evil people....what you posted is a disservice to every good person who has died from cancer before the age of 60, and those of us who have fought it.

I saw nothing insensitive about his remark. I have battled cancer and was not in the least offended.

Concur. I will even bet that Michael Moore would find it funny or at least see the irony.

That said I do support archer right to be uber sensitive.

Sorry, So have I, and I do take offense at those who view cancer as somehow deserved by people they don't like. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, even a "bad" person. I know, that isn't exactly what Fred posted, but it struck me wrong, very wrong. Cancer is never funny.

I didn't even mention cancer. I mentioned healthcare.

Then what was Fred making a joke about? Chavez healthcare? Well what was that healthcare for? Cancer....DUH. Fred seemed to think it amusing that he died before he was 60, many people do from cancer....

I really was interested in people's thoughts about what Chavez's death might mean to the United States, did it offer an opportunity for better relations? or worse. Should the US make overtures to whoever wins the election there? Or should we wait and see how things go.....we do get a lot of oil from Venezuela.

Instead we get a lot of snark about Chavez himself, and I gained nothing from the exchange except a dose of reality, the very same posters who try to moderate liberals into towing the line on "their" threads and not posting off topic/snark did just that. Please spare me the ....."Oh, what did that add to the conversation" posts the next time I post something in a thread you think doesn't fit your definition of "on topic".
