State Senator Evie Hudak faces recall petition

12 Apr 2013 17:22 #1 by FOS

Evans said Hudak has also "rushed legislation on important issues...offended the sensibilities of men and women by openly insulting women and rape victims... voted for legislation that continues to raise taxes on the hard-working citizens of Colorado. Accordingly, we the citizens of Colorado must exercise our right to recall Senator Hudak from office."

The group needs 18,962 signatures by June 10 to force a recall election, Evans said.

Make that 2

The Colorado Secretary of State today signed off on recall petitions for two more lawmakers over their gun votes, for Democratic Sens. Angela Giron of Pueblo and Evie Hudak of Westminster.

To force an election, recall organizers have to collect petition signatures based on 25 percent of the total vote in the last election in that district. It’s not an easy task collecting that many signatures, says the state’s best known Second Amendment advocate, Dudley Brown, who believes the time and money is better spent knocking off Democrats in swing districts in 2014.

Might as well recall someone who does not care if another Newtown massacre or Aurora theater shooting occurs. She know very well that her legislation will not prevent another massacre.

It's a shame to be that uncaring.

Y'know there are laws against murder too...And it doesn't keep it from happening.

There are laws against speeding, and DWI/DUI...It doesn't keep it from happening.

There are laws against writing bad checks, and rape, and stock fraud, and bank-fraud, and a lot of other things...It doesn't keep it from happening.

"It doesn't keep it from happening" is a crap reason NOT to pass the laws... Unless, of course, you think we should take laws prohibiting murder, rape, bad checks, speeding, DUI, bank fraud, etc., off the books, since "it doesn't stop it from happening." I just love this kind of stupidity...I could sit and watch it for hours.

I want to see laws on universal background checks; magazine limits; confiscation of guns from domestic-violence/abuser cretins; assault weapons, and hopefully, a registration database someday. "It doesn't keep it from happening..." Yeah, I know. But neither do laws about murder. But it's a start.

We need to make background checks mandatory even though we aren't enforcing the current laws against illegal and straw purchases right now.

And, yes....We DO "need to make background checks mandatory". And every time the background check turns up someone who SHOULDN'T be allowed to purchase a weapon, that's one less wacko out there running around with one. And we obviously aren't "enforcing" laws every minute against murder (because people still get murdered); and against armed robbery (because armed robberies are still happening); and bad-check passing (because people still pass bad checks)...And NONE of that means that we shouldn't enforce background checks... Conservative Pretzel Logic....Imagine my surprise....

The Arizona and Aurora shooters passed multiple background checks.
How did it stop them?

Good point... We really need to ban assault style weapons and large capacity magazines too. Thanks for making that so clear.

Both petitions were certified so apparently there are enough concerned voters to move forward.

Kinda like the Evergreen Fire District Board recall....a few malcontents managed to get the signatures of like minded people to force a recall election.....but that doesn't mean the voters will go along.

:smackshead: Still bitter that your Walker recall didn't work out?
