Oops...

Over the course of about twenty-four hours, the remarks evolved from something specific and fairly detailed into a bland, vague mush.

From the very beginning of the editing process, the talking points contained the erroneous assertion that the attack was “spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved.”

But everything else about the changes that were made is problematic.

“at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi” before the one in which four Americans were killed. That’s not in the final version. Nor is this: “[W]e do know that Islamic extremists with ties to al-Qa’ida participated in the attack.”

But the mere existence of the edits—whatever the motivation for them—seriously undermines the White House’s credibility on this issue.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters that “The White House and the State Department have made clear that the single adjustment that was made to those talking points by either of those two institutions were changing the word ‘consulate’ to ‘diplomatic facility’ because ‘consulate’ was inaccurate.”

Remarkably, Carney is sticking with that line even now.

This is an incredible thing for Carney to be saying. He’s playing semantic games, telling a roomful of journalists that the definition of editing we’ve all been using is wrong, that the only thing that matters is who’s actually working the keyboard. It’s not quite re-defining the word “is,” or the phrase “sexual relations,” but it’s not all that far off, either.

I was thinking this exact same thing... these people think we're so stupid. It's just like when Obama mentioned "acts of terror" in a broad sense and then the administration claimed he was calling it a terrorist attack the whole time. Problem is he said "acts of terror" ONCE and talked about the video for two straight weeks.
It is nice to see the liberal media being forced to cover the cover-up though, even if they are very late to the party.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Just finished watching the Fox News Sunday round table. I will not bother to look for a vid or xcript but I do want to acknowledge Dennis Kucinich as a politician who places country over party. We need more like him, even if his ideas are bat shit crazy.

Yes, the "Rose Garden" claim was proved to be wrong following the debate, but, if they repeat the same lie enough times, they apparently think it will become true.

With all the effort the administration has expended to try to justify the talking points, I wonder what it is they are really trying to hide?

What is so funny about this are the GOP clowns leading the charges. Just today Issa claimed that an "act of terror" is quite different from a "terrorist attack". Yep. And he claimed that you can get a commercial flight from DC to Benghazi that only takes 7 hours, despite every travel site shows that the shortest flight time is 27 hours. Yep, this is the GOP brain trust. So the polls today show that Hillary has a favorability rating of 54% while the GOP Congress members have a favorability rating of 36% and dropping fast. Polls are showing that Americans trust Hillary over the Congressional Republicans head to head by a margin of 10%.

And Republicans wonder why they are becoming extinct. When was the last time the House took a vote on a jobs bills? Remember that laser like focus on jobs, jobs, jobs?

"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you can be batman. Then always be batman." Unknown
