PrintSmith is correct. archer if the cost for low income families will go down, why are rates going up so much for the rest of us? Please try a real answer, not some canned HuffingPoop/Democrap response.

If you try to convince me of something, and I don't believe you, remember that I have been lied to repeatedly by the President of the United States.

If I can't believe him, why would I believe YOU?

Think about it.

Good point. During the Nixon years, being lied to by the president was a zero tolerance situation. Bush Sr paid the price for his "read my lips"... Clinton got a pass with just a little embarrassment, now Obama deals out lies like a pro and still gets the media to make excuses for him. The president of the US is no longer held to a higher standard.

He thinks he's the father of the country and we are his ignorant immature kids who don't know what's best for us.

No, actually, it was law, passed by both houses of Congress, and upheld by SCOTUS...But thanks for playing... At least you got to use "rule by brute force" in a sentence.

Oh, by the way, the Senator that put the legislation over the top was Olympia Snowe...a Republican...

The only vote Snowe cast in favor of the legislation was in the Senate Finance Committee. To say that her vote was the one that "put the legislation over the top" is beyon disingenuous, it's yet another bald faced lie from someone who tells so many of them that they are incapable of distinguishing between truth and fallacy any longer. Not one single Republican voted in favor of the (un)Affordable Care Act legislation that was passed by the Senate. Not a single Republican voted in favor of the bill that was signed into law. Those are the facts which cannot be undone regardless of how many attempts at rewriting history are undertaken by the liars on the left.

And yes, the Supreme Court said the (un)Affordable Care Act was a tax which the Congress had the power to levy, but it also said that the legislation was not a "necessary and proper" exercise of the power delegated to Congress. The "progressives" want us to forget about that part for some strange reason. Now why Congress has the power to levy a tax for what is an improper and unnecessary exercise of their power remains a mystery to me that I am yet hopeful will one day be explained.

They also wish to ignore the fact that those who strongly oppose the law outnumber those who strongly support it 2:1. They also wish to forget that the majority of people have opposed this law since it was first introduced. The people themselves have not consented to be governed by this law, it has been imposed upon them by a single party using loopholes to subjugate the people under their collective will.

As for me, I am leaning towards paying the tax that is offered as an alternative to participating in the forced commerce of the Democrats choosing; commerce that I voluntarily participated in prior to the passage of this law. It has freed me from the necessity of being continually insured to obtain coverage for when I fall ill. The emergency rooms will still have to treat me regardless of my ability to pay should I suffer a life threatening condition and I can obtain insurance for any condition I may contract while uninsured. Paying the $95 tax will allow me to save over $400 a month to cover the occasional office visit to a GP and I can use those funds to enlarge my retirement contributions, while I am healthy and working.

Think I won't be able to get covered if I get sick until the next "enrollment period"? Think again. All I need do is start a new job. Whoever insures the employees there will not be able to exclude me from coverage because of my pre-existing condition. That is one of the many options affoded to me under the law. Even if I lose the job because of my illness, I will have quite a bankroll to pay the insurance premiums saved up from the years of savings from not purchasing insurance. And the insurance company will not be able to charge me a single dime more for coverage either because of the community ratings provisions in the law. I will be paying the exact same premium that I would have been paying if I had been paying premiums for years instead of paying no premiums at all. Ain't this a great country?
