There are rules against using federal military forces in a civilian role. The US doesn't have a national police force like other nations like Spain or Mexico. It does happen occasionally, but usually only after some soul searching. The protesters did peacefully depart after a few hours. Would you have preferred we have a Kent State type scenario where troops untrained in policing are rushed into action?

National Guard troops were deployed to DC in June 2020 for the BLM protest. Why is this different?

Where they National Guard or was it the parks police? President Trump wanted to deploy the national guard to protect federal property like courthouses but he got a mixed response from State governors.

A bad idea to have untrained federal troops do our policing. No matter which party does it.

Of course they had inside help. It was timed perfectly to prevent the presentation of evidence... duh! The only thing that screwed up their plans was that Trump started his speech late screwing up the timeline. He was still talking 45 minutes away when the capitol was breached....

There are 29 notebooks full of evidence that have been compiled.

Five people died in the violence including one Capitol Police officer who was beaten as he tried to ward off the crowds.

Sicknick was not assaulted. It looks like he had another health issue that was the cause of his death.
