They didn't "step over the line" without encouragement. THOSE are the people who also need to be prosecuted.

What is more important right now? Find out what happened at that Wuhan Lab last year? Or a Democrat powered witch hunt?

By "witch hunt," are you insinuating that the bi-partisan investigation into the Jan 6th Capitol assault is a Democratic political ploy? Remember, McCarthy and Republicans asked for several conditions for the bi-partisan investigation, to which the Dems agreed. Then the R's decided they didn't want the investigation.

Because after seeing what the Democrats crafted, they were certain it would be a political witch hunt?

WHAT? A reasonable request.....the GOP is not about to grant ANY thing that would put their leader in
jeopardy. Our government's finest moment of honesty and accountability.

Three years of the Russia investigation where Trump supposedly colluded with Russia and they want to do it again.

The biggest failure in that investigation was the complete glossing over of FISA fraud, bias, and the phony dossier bought from Russians and paid for by Trump's opponent. Now they will try to do the same thing here and complete ignore the one person who was murdered (the unarmed woman, not 'of color' of course).

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

So you are implementing the same tactic as the Republican leadership - downplay the insurrection, pretend like it wasn't an attack on our democracy, gaslight the entire saga.

Why would the Republicans want to not investigate the attack? Ask yourself that question and be honest. Could it be that they know that when the truth comes out about the attack, many in Congress, along with Trump, will be implicated?

GEORGE WILL: Well, it's controversial for one reason. We have something new in American history. We have a political party defined by the terror it feels for its own voters. That's the Republican Party right now.

Every elected official is frightened of his voters, therefore doesn't respect his voters and doesn't like his voters and is afraid that a vote for this would be seen as an insult to the 45th president.

There's no reason -- I mean, McConnell has a point. There are going to be lots of investigations. Journalists are going to go through this. There are 450-some criminal charges being brought with 100 more to come, and there's going to be lots of information about this.

I would like to see January 6th burned into the American mind as firmly as 9/11 because it was that scale of a shock to the system. I think there will be a commission, but it is controversial for that reason.

Now McConnell is asking fellow Republican Senators to oppose the commission as a "personal favor."

In the last 24 hours, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has ramped up the pressure on his GOP Senate colleagues to oppose a bill creating a January 6 commission, according to two Republicans familiar with his effort.
One of those Republicans told CNN that McConnell has even made the unusual move of asking wavering senators to support filibustering the bill as "a personal favor" to him.
"No one can understand why Mitch is going to this extreme of asking for a 'personal favor' to kill the commission," said the Republican.

I wonder what has Mitch so worried that he wants to kill this commission? What will come out if the bi-partisan investigation goes forward?
