Democrat Legislators Flee Texas

I have to laugh, and I'm sure others are too, that you guys are suddenly pro-mask.

That's okay. The Republican Texas governor has announced the Democrat lawmakers will be arrested once they
return to Texas.

Where did you get that? No one in this thread has endorsed wearing masks. I even advocated that it is well past time to stop wearing masks on flights. #masktheater Wayne, has Pura Vida become Pura Loco?

Pointing out that even democratic legislators do not follow the ridiculous edict of the Harris-Biden administration, makes one pro-masks?

Try some other spin, Wayne.

The last Texas election put Democrats in the minority in their state legislature. By refusing to meet for a quorum, are they impeding the voice of the voters? Acting just like President Trump, refusing to accept the results of a certified election. Except the leftist media calls them heroes.

I don't think it's that they are refusing to accept the results of an election, it's rather that this is the only way they can prevent legislation they oppose from being passed. You know, sort of like the filibuster in the U.S. Senate?

Why are the Texas Republicans pushing a bill for a problem that doesn't exist?

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has said more needs to be done in the state to make elections more secure — without offering any evidence that voter fraud has marred results in Texas in recent elections.

So you don’t see a difference in a legal legislative process vs this which is not? Nothing innovative about breaking rules and running away because you’re having a tantrum.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

It's not a tantrum. This is the only recourse the Dems have left to stop this legislation. They are not breaking the rules. They are preventing a quorum by being absent.

I'll ask again - Why are the Texas Republicans pushing a bill for a problem that doesn't exist?

Texas already has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the country.

The two new priority voting bills for the state's Republicans would ban drive-through and 24-hour voting, make mail-in voting more difficult and give partisan poll watchers more authority at voting sites.

Why would you not want to make it easier for voters to cast a ballot?

Why would you want to make it more difficult to vote?
