The answer I'd like to know from our liberal/progressive friends is, is killing a baby at 40 weeks reasonable or is it inhumane and barbaric? Is this how a moral people should act? You already know my answer.
HB-1279 would not create any new reproductive rights in Colorado, a state where people already have access to abortion later in pregnancy. However, the bill’s sponsors say it would prevent cities and counties from banning or greatly restricting abortion, should the U.S. Supreme Court move to reverse or significantly weaken past case law affirming the right to abortion up until the point when a fetus can survive outside the womb — about 24 weeks into a pregnancy.
STOP IT.....week 40 IS NOT ACCURATE.....READ THE FRIGGIN BILL.
Salient points:
(1) "ABORTION" MEANS ANY MEDICAL PROCEDURE, INSTRUMENT, AGENT,OR DRUG USED TO TERMINATE THE PREGNANCY OF AN INDIVIDUAL KNOWN OR REASONABLY BELIEVED TO BE PREGNANT WITH AN INTENTION OTHER THAN TO INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF A LIVE BIRTH.
(2) "PREGNANCY" MEANS THE HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE PROCESS, BEGINNING WITH THE IMPLANTATION OF AN EMBRYO.
(2) A PREGNANT INDIVIDUAL HAS A FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO CONTINUE A PREGNANCY AND GIVE BIRTH OR TO HAVE AN ABORTION ANDTO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT HOW TO EXERCISE THAT RIGHT.
(3) A FERTILIZED EGG, EMBRYO, OR FETUS DOES NOT HAVE INDEPENDENT OR DERIVATIVE RIGHTS UNDER THE LAWS OF THIS STATE.
I do not know what the comment ".24 WEEKS IS NOT 40. TALK ABOUT FAKE NEWS/FAKE REPORTING/"WOKE".......STFU" means or t what it is directed.
HB-1279 is very clear, a women can exercise the legal right to have an abortion at any time.

You should contact NPR and tell them to knock it off as well...
Colorado joins 15 other states and Washington, D.C., in codifying the right to have an abortion either prior to a fetus's viability or throughout a pregnancy in state law.
I read "throughout a pregnancy" to mean at any time during pregnancy. Nothing in the article mentions any number of weeks. So you can just calm down now.
It is unfortunate that the link for medical abortion beyond 26 weeks was deleted. There is a sub set of
medical cases that warrant the dire decision.....mods,could u reinstate that medical info? (I attempted to find it,and I don't believe it is in the Ring.)......it is factual and germane to this topic.
We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion-year-old carbon
And we got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion-year-old carbon And we got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
MAYBE the garden is the ultimate destination? (lyrics from Woodstock)
