I WOULD AGREE, WHEN IT IS DONE LEGALLY AND WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF OUR GOVERNMENTAL STRUCTURE....THERE R CHECKS AND BALANCES THAT R BEING IGNORED ,IN THE NAME OF EXPEDITING THE EXPERIMENT. TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY...I WILL DO WHATEVER THE HELL I WANT BECAUSE I AM THE PRESIDENT AND I HAVE ALL ENCOMPASSING POWER.....WHICH IS NOT THE WAY OUR GOVERNMENT IS STRUCTURED ....THE LIMITATIONS R THERE, HE ELECTS TO IGNORE THEM, SO IT IS AN EXPERIMENT OF WHO IS GOING TO BLINK FIRST....

If Congress wished to curtail the power of the executive, in which the Constitution vests all executive powers (The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America, first sentence of Article II, Section 1), then they should stop passing laws which delegate their own powers to the executive and allowing agencies under executive control to promulgate their own rules.

As things stand, however, Congress has ceded so much authority that EOs, how the current executive interprets the law, actually ends up being the law for the length of their stay, and sometimes well after their term ends. DACA and Dreamers come to mind, as well as Biden’s failed attempt to cancel student loan debts. Trump’s EOs are similar in their nature, they are statements of his interpretation of the laws. Congress could, for instance, define birthright citizenship, but since the 14th Amendment was ratified they have chosen to let the executive interpret what “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” entails. Trump has chosen to interpret it differently than his predecessors have, which absent an action by Congress, who was granted the authority under Section 5 to define the provisions of the article, the executive is permitted to apply their own definition under article II, Section 1, subject to judicial interpretation.

Jackson ignored the ruling of the Supreme Court regarding his ability to relocate the Cherokee tribe, resulting in the Trail of Tears . . . so even judicial oversight of executive actions depends upon the willingness of the executive to abide by judicial interpretation instead of their own given the sole remedy available is impeachment of the executive and a guilty verdict rendered by trial in the Senate.

This is longstanding precedent HA, dating back to the 19th century. Absent action from Congress to define the provisions of the law themselves, Article II, Section 1 allows the executive to define the provisions of the laws. Nothing new under the sun here.

Look at the tragedy that has resulted from the interpretation that “general welfare of the Union” extends to the individual welfare of anyone and everyone residing within one of the States . . . a $36 trillion, and growing, federal debt that is costing the taxpayers over $1 trillion in interest payments and zero effort to reduce the principle amount since the administration Eisenhower.

Our accumulated debt is 133% of our annual GDP, and virtually every dollar of it can be traced back to the federal government subsidizing the individual welfare of the residents in the States. Trillions upon trillions in treasure wasted via fraud and abuse dating back to LBJ’s “Great Society” & “War on Poverty” initiatives.

The greatest tragedy ever seen in this Union is the expansion of the Welfare State

He is correct. The biggest part of the budget expenditures are Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Unfortunately I see no way to slow their increases as Americans age and refuse to have more children.

Norway refuses to refuel US naval ships. Will Trump pull US naval assets out of Europe?

Norway apologizes for the actions of this private company and turns the pumps back on.

The intelligent members of NATO know that over 75% of the military assets of NATO are American.

Pretty easy to establish . . . take the yearly revenues from any fiscal year post LBJ, subtract all of the individual welfare spending (the so-called "mandatory budget items) excluding Social Security and Medicare (those are included in the general revenue from taxes received) and then look at the budget deficit for that year. Nearly every budget year post LBJ will show you the same result . . . the budget deficit for that year and the "mandatory" spending requirements are very similar sums.
