US to Spend $200 Million Per Day on Obama's Mumbai Visit

05 Nov 2010 22:23 #21 by Residenttroll returns

In an interview with the Press Trust of India, Obama said, "As president, I have a responsibility to support jobs and opportunity for the American people, and I believe the U.S.-India economic relationship can and should be a 'win-win' relationship for both of our countries."

Pineguy is going to flip. President Obama gave an interview with Press Trust of India.

I love the way AP started the article:

MUMBAI, India — President Barack Obama hasn't been able to drive down unemployment in America, so he's coming to India in search of U.S. jobs.

In another article on MSNBC,

Obama to skip Bangalore, India's outsourcing capital. City's high-tech industry has been blamed for taking American jobs. NBC's Ian Williams reports.

Isn't that funny? Obama is going to India to find jobs, yet he skips over Bangalore, the very place where many of the outsourced American jobs are located at. rofllol

Well here is something you can believe. There will not be 34 US NAVY warships patrolling off the Coast of India during his stay. Not going to happen. We normally have a battle group or two over there anyway, and they can handle just about anything. 1 BG up in the Gulf one in the Indian ocean, 1 in the MED, no big deal and there is always a MEU Amphib battle group over there somewhere. (NEED TO KNOW)

But there will not be 34 US Naval ships just off the coast. I am sure one of the BG's have been put on some kind of alert as the response group in case of emergency but that would be it. (I know this for a fact.) Been there done that.

So LJ, where is the transparency with this president? He should have no problem with what this will cost us. You don't take a trip without knowing how much it will cost! Numbers please...

As you may or may not know, the White House has NEVER released these numbers because they involved presidential security. This has been the case through various presidents of both parties. It is the policy of the Secret Service.

What's interesting to me is these questions of costs never came up when your glorious leader, George Bush was president and traveling abroad. Why is that?

Another thing that seems to have escaped your remarkable intelligence -- any military used for security are being paid anyway, regardless of where they are stationed.

If this is such a big concern to you, why not contact one of your favorite conservative politicians and ask them to look into it. So far, the only outrage over this appears to be coming from right-wing Bloggers and Neanderthal right-wing posters trying to stir up something.

...And their only "proof" is cross-posting from each other... It's a "closed system" of Righties, and they feed off of each other.

I don't care if it costs $2M or $200M per day, is a presidential trip to India a big priority right now? I talk to those people free everytime i pick up a phone for customer service. In past administrations we were not running 1.3 Trillion deficits and printing money faster than the Dems are getting voted out. Can't Hillary fly over to India for a chit chat?

If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2

Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

Well, seeing as how they're announcing "trade deals worth billions", I think we can assume that it was enough of a priority trip to BRING MONEY BACK INTO the US... But then, you guys are more interested in bashing him than acknowledging that he did something to improve the trade deficit.

Oh, wait.... That hasn't shown up on FauxNews yet...so it must not be true.

The original story cites an unnamed "source" in the Indian government.

"I think you have to ask, 'How would they know how much any of this costs?'" said Gannon, the advance press director under George W. Bush "We don't share that with officials from foreign governments. I'd question where they got that number from. That does sound very inflated."
