Kindle Book Lending

I know there's a few of you out there that have Kindles, so I was wondering if anyone was interested in lending e-books with one another now that this option is available? You can still borrow books even if you don't have a Kindle - you just need to download the Kindle software for PC, Mac, or whatever smart phone you have. The one requirement is that the borrower's personal email address is necessary in order for the lender to send the book, so keep that in mind.

If anyone's interested, I can post a list of the books that I have so you can see if there's anything you're interested in reading.

Eligible Kindle books can be loaned once for a period of 14 days. The borrower does not need to own a Kindle -- Kindle books can also be read using our free Kindle reading applications for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android devices. Not all books are lendable -- it is up to the publisher or rights holder to determine which titles are eligible for lending. The lender will not be able to read the book during the loan period.

FAQ's
What happens to my notes and highlights?

The lender's notes and highlights are not visible to the borrower during a Kindle books loan. When the book is returned, the same notes and highlights will appear in the book as before the loan was initiated.

The borrower of a Kindle book loan is also able to make notes and highlights in loaned books. These will not be visible to the lender at the end of the loan period. If a borrower purchases the same title after the loan has ended, any notes and highlights made in the loaned book will be retained in the purchased version.

Loaning a Kindle Book

You can initiate a loan from Manage Your Kindle or the book's product detail page on Amazon.com. You'll enter the borrower's name and e-mail address and an optional notification message. Your recipient can receive the book loan even if they do not yet have a Kindle or Kindle reading application. Your loan recipient will be notified of the loan through the e-mail address you provide. The borrower has seven days to accept the loan.

If the loan is not accepted after seven days, the book will become available again through your Archived Items. You can also attempt to loan the book again at that time.

If the borrower already owns the title, or the title is not available in the borrower's country due to copyright restrictions, the borrower will not be able to accept the loan. In these cases the lender will be able to read and loan the book again after the seven day period has ended.

deltamrey - absolutely I would recommend a Kindle! The iPad's are fun too - I was in the Apple store yesterday trying to decide whether to get an iPad or the MacBook Pro laptop for my new business venture. The iPads are sooo much fun! I don't know how nice they'd be for reading for long periods (it's not the e-ink of the Kindle which is easy on the eyes), but you can play games and surf the internet which you can't do easily on the Kindle. Since I already have a Kindle, I bought the laptop b/c it can do much more (invoicing, documents, etc) business-wise, but am still craving an iPad...

CG - yea! The Blank Slate is on my list, sounds like a thought-provoker. If we can get a book club started, I have one to recommend as the first one we read and debate:
Man Down: Proof Beyond a Reasonable Doubt That Women are Better Cops, Drivers, Gamblers, Spies, World Leaders, Beer Tasters, Hedge Fund Managers, and Just About Everything Else by Dan Abrams (sorry, I'm still learning my new Apple and can't seem to figure out how to copy and paste the Amazon link. ugh, learning curves suck!)

The author makes the argument that women are better at those jobs listed above because they are less corruptable, more cautious, don't swing for the fence and flame out, etc. I already have a bunch of arguments against and would love to get into a big discussion about whether his hypothesis has merit or needs to be expanded and improved!
