This topic was to inform the general public about Park County's video and details on the fire ban in effect (a good thing). If it were meant to be an arguement about how PCSD conducts it's business, it prolly would have been started in the Courthouse or the Ring. There is a time and place for that sort of discussion and this is not it.

You hijacked a very useful thread and turned it into something selfish and ugly in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th posts.

Great Point

An observation, the grumpy / unhappy / Park County sucks group seem to have one thing in common. The sit around all day listening to scanners to hear what is going on with the lives of others and to police the police. I suspect these people would be much happier if they shut off their scanners and had a life.

What's a cheap round of ammunition?

just curious...the High Park Fire was started by a camp stove that can "turn off". The wind blew it over and even though it was supposed to turn off if this happened it did not and started that fire. So why are they legal in Park county? Do they only make things illegal that have already started fires in this county but not others? I don't get it.

OK, I am going to stick my butt out there for someone to kick. I am in my seventies and have shot firearms all of my life. I have not shot firearms infrequently, but have shot vast quantities of shells and bullets continually over the span of my life. Not black powder, I must admit, but all smokeless. All of my friends throughout life have shot firearms. I do not believe that I have ever had a friend who was not an avid shooter.

Never have I seen a fire ignited by shooting a firearm. Before moving to Colorado, I had never heard of the belief that fires are caused by shooting firearms. In fact, if a person told me to my face that shooting a firearm causes fires, I do not know that I would not laugh in his or her face.

I would seriously doubt the veracity of a public official who would tell me that fires are caused by shooting firearms. But maybe that is how people here set fire to their fireplaces. Maybe its worth a try.
