Who shot this elk on Mapleton Hill?

When I was in Estes park a few years ago, we watched some Elk on the golf course, they seemed pretty calm. I heard later that one of them got a bit aggressive with the tourists and golfers and supposedly the DOW or rangers sawed off his antlers, and he was fine after that. Not sure if true, but it seemed a bit intrusive to me. They need those antlers for defense.

These officers are nothing more than poachers with a badge.

Yep. And this is a Sampson Law violation as well.
Bull elk with six or more points on an antler beam $10,000
Will they also lose hunting privilage in Colorado too?

LEOs are required to report any time they fire their weapon on duty, for whatever reason. The fact that this officer didn't speaks volumes to me.

As does the picture of him posing with the elk like it was a good shoot.

Did the Park Cty deputies do this after they shot the keg? Think the police will get treated leniantly or made an example of? I would guess they will get a mild hand slap and soon be back at work. A candlelight vigil for the dead Elk. H

There is a candlelight vigil at 5:30 p.m. in Boulder to 'celebrate life' of the elk killed by a police officer.
