Personally, I think it's more about wanting to keep pressure on the police chief to fire the cop than it is about the elk, but I could be wrong.

I agree that they are free to peaceably assemble, just as some of us are free to think that they are freakin' nuts. lol

I am sorry but I just laugh hysterically at this. There is something so funny about it. LOL Watch the video.

Close to 50 people braved the freezing cold today for a “silent” march on the Pearl Street Mall to honor the elk shot by a police officer in the Mapleton Hill neighborhood on New Year's Day.

It would have been fun to have showed up in camo blowing a selection of elk calls.

I hope the nice people of Boulder can achieve some kind of closure, and get back on with their lives again soon.

'He's dead tonight': Boulder cops' texts released from night of Mapleton elk shooting
2 police officers arrested on multiple felony, misdemeanor charges
Posted: 01/18/2013

District Attorney Stan Garnett today announced that Boulder police officers Sam Carter and Brent Curnow were arrested this morning in connection with the Jan. 1 shooting of a towering bull elk on Mapleton Hall, saying investigators determined the two men conspired to kill the elk as a trophy and for its meat.

The officers are facing felony counts of tampering with physical evidence, attempt to influence a public servant and forgery, as well as misdemeanor charges of unlawful taking of a trophy elk, conspiracy, a Samson law surcharge, killing an elk out of season, use of an electronic communication device to take an elk, and official misconduct.

<snip> ...according to an arrest affidavit, cell phone records obtained from phone carriers for Carter, Curnow and George show the shooting was premeditated.
