Conifer deserves a full, stand-alone library and this awesome woman is leading the Conifer Area Council team effort! Picture from Conifer Radio of Ms. Punky Kiefer, who has previously led the Conifer Trails Program and helped build miles of trails through Aspen Park/Conifer. She is a rock star and we're so lucky to have her working on our behalf. Listen in this evening at 5pm!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Conifer Podcast presents Mr. Dan McCafferty, Post Commander of American Legion MIA/POW Memorial Post 2527.

Conifer Radio is pleased to present on Conifer Podcast this coming Wednesday, April 19 at 5 pm on our MOUNTAIN CLASSIC ROCK station, Mr. Dan McCafferty and the story of American Legion Post 2527. Mr. McCafferty, with the assistance of several community-minded volunteers re-established Post 2527 following a 9-year period of silence and now have 38 members (and counting). What’s impressive about this American Legion Post, is that it is one of the very few remaining MIA/POW Posts recognizing an American service member who was incarcerated or missing in action. This post recognizes Major Pete Matthes whose C-130A aircraft was hit by enemy artillery fire over Laos in November of 1969. Major Matthes’ secret detector code (GX2527) was detected outside of Dong Vai Prison in North Vietnam, and our local Bailey-area MIA/POW Post was established in his honor. Please join us on Conifer Podcast this coming Wednesday, April 19th at 5 pm for Dan’s personal story. This is followed by the story of his very successful re-launch of MIA/POW Memorial Post 2527; and where in response, he was recognized as the Rookie Post Commander of the Year by the American Legion Post Department of Colorado.
