Faithfully K-9 and Conifer Radio present a special feature of Conifer Podcast for this upcoming Veteran’s Day, Saturday November 11 at 5 pm.

Join us as we recognize the service of Mr. Erick Perez; a former Army Airborne paratrooper and thereafter a former Lakewood Colorado Police Agent… and now a volunteer trainer for Faithfully K9, our local nonprofit training individuals with PTSD, mobility and hearing issues.
A big thank you to Ms. Jan Demas of Conifer Radio and Ms. Cathy Kowalski Founder, Executive Director and Trainer with Faithfully K9 who joined in an interview with Mr. Perez from Conifer Radio’s Studio at the Museum.
Erick served in the Army from 2015 to 2018 as an airborne infantryman assigned to the 4-25 Brigade Fort Richardson, Alaska; and served with the 3-509th battalion. Being a paratrooper taught him that he could push himself physically and mentally to new limits, with his biggest lesson - that of selfless service.

In Afghanistan, Erick’s two brothers were lost during deployment. After the completion of his own deployment, Erik was honorably discharged and returned to Colorado to serve his community as a police officer for the City of Lakewood.
December 27, 2021, was tough as he was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the Belmar area of Lakewood. In this incident, he and his partner attempted to stop a triple homicide suspect who opened fire on them. The event ended with an officer and the suspect exchanging fire. The suspect was deceased, and his partner, his good friend Ashley Ferris, thankfully recovered. Following this event, Erick decided to pursue a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling which will enable him to still be able to fulfill his passion for helping others by serving veterans and first responders.

Erick trained his dog, Chispa through Faithfully K9’s program; and now has decided to help other Veterans and 1st Responders now as a trainer in the same program.

Join us for a Veteran’s Day salute this Saturday at 5 pm a special feature of Conifer Podcast at 5 pm with Jan Demas, Cathy Kowalski as we recognize Mr. Erick Perez for his service to our country. www.coniferradio.com/ , click the "Mountain Classic Rock" button to listen!
