For today and tonight:
High pressure will build aloft over Colorado today with dry
conditions and a bit warmer temperatures. There is some lingering
moisture this morning resulting in partly cloudy skies and patchy
fog over the mountains and plains. Mostly sunny skies are expected
by afternoon.

Ahead of the next storm system, there will be some gusty winds
over the higher mountains and exposed east slopes later tonight
with some gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range.

Snow will move into the mountains this evening and spread across northeast Colorado late tonight and Monday morning. The snow combined with gusty north to northwest winds will cause blowing snow, make travel difficult Monday morning across the plains of northeast Colorado. Light snowfall across the Denver area will make for a slow commute Monday morning.

A storm system over the great basin will move into north central Colorado by this afternoon and into the Nebraska by this evening. Snow and blowing snow will occur in the mountains with 5 to 10 inches expected. The snow will be heaviest along west and southwest facing slopes north of I-70. Strong winds will occur late this afternoon and evening in and near the Front Range Foothills with gusts from 75 mph to 85 mph possible. As the system moves into the northeast plains of Colorado strong gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph will be possible. The wind will be strongest near the Wyoming and Nebraska borders.
