Thank you for the recommendation Wily Fox. Unfortunately, if we deleted the previous day's post, and put up the current days forecast in its place, the day/time stamp wouldn't change so the post wouldn't be bumped up in our Active Topics or New Posts. (Plus, we think it's kind of neat to have a history of forecasts). :) If you wish to go to the most recent post, all you have to do is click on the bent-corner page symbol underneath Last Post category on the Index page, and it bypasses all other posts in that thread taking you right to the last one posted.

Here's today's forecast (a little late today, sorry about that):

For today and tonight:
High pressure will prevail over the region through tonight with dry
and mild conditions continuing.

For Tuesday through Sunday:
There will be a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms
Tuesday mainly in and near the foothills. A weather disturbance
will move across the area late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday
night and will produce a better chance of thunderstorms in the
northern foothills and across the northeast plains. A few of the
storms could be severe. For Thursday and Friday it will be mainly
dry with only a slight chance of showers in the mountains. By
Saturday through next Monday, a storm system will move in,
bringing a cooler, more moist, unsettle weather pattern to the
forecast area. Hopefully much needed precipitation will occur.

For today and tonight:
There will be a slight chance of late afternoon and early evening
thunderstorms in the foothills, Palmer Divide and along the
Front Range Urban Corridor today. The storms will be capable of
producing gusty winds to 40 mph along with brief light to
moderate rain.

For Wednesday through Monday:
A weather disturbance will move across northeast Colorado late
Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night which will produce another
chance of thunderstorms over the northern foothills and across the
northeast plains. A few of the storms could be severe. For
Thursday and Friday it will be mainly dry with only a slight chance
of showers in the mountains. Over the weekend, a storm system will
move in, bringing a cooler, more moist, unsettled weather pattern
to the forecast area. This storm may bring significant
precipitation in the Saturday through Monday time frame, but
that depends on the track and intensity of the storm which is
still quite uncertain.

Well above normal temperatures combined with very low humidity levels and gusty winds will lead to extreme fire danger in the southern foothills...park county and across all of Northeast Colorado. Over the higher terrain along and north of I-70 extreme fire danger will be in place as well as widely scattered high based thunderstorms this afternoon. These storms will produce gusty winds to 50 mph but little rainfall. The thunderstorm activity should diminish after sunset along with decreasing winds.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL REDEVELOP ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST COLORADO THIS AFTERNOON AS A WEAKENING UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM SLOWLY TRACKS EASTWARD OVER THE AREA. HOWEVER TODAY'S RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS GREAT AS THOSE OBSERVED IN PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ANDEVENING. MOST OF THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY SHOULD ALSO REMAIN EAST OF THE INTERSTATE 25 URBAN CORRIDOR WHERE THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BE MORE MOIST AND UNSTABLE THIS AFTERNOON. IN THE HIGH COUNTRY PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS RAIN AND/OR SNOW...WITH THE SNOW LEVEL GENERALLY ABOVE 11 THOUSAND FEET. AREAS ABOVE TIMBERLINE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PICK UP ANOTHER FEW INCHES OF SNOW BY THIS EVENING.
