Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day; Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, living or dead.

I see I am in good company. It is a nit I also pick.

That is what is cool about being American - Every day is your day and you can celebrate it any way you want.
Anyone who has served has sacrificed, especially those drafted or forced to serve. We all suffer for decades when we send people off to serve...we just paid off WWII and most of us will suffer for the rest of our lives for the recent wars, let alone all of them.
Memorial day for me is to remember what we have done to ourselves though or love of war and peace though violence.
We should have an official day to remember conflicts we have avoided, now that is something worth celebrating.
But in the end all 365 days belong to each one of us and we can celebrate just about anything we want.
Look at halmark.
Thanks to those that have died, been hurt, served even 1 second or that have a tougher life because of the war conflicts we participate in or start.

Whether you agree with the choices our leaders have made or not, are Republican, Democrat, Independent or Other, today is about honoring those who've lost their lives serving our country. Our humble thanks and gratitude to them and their families.
