Republicans vote to allow gun sales to terrorists

I'll give you a straight answer:

1. You can't buy fully automatic weapons at gun shows or gun shops. Nor can you buy RPGs or bombs. BTW, Adam Gadahn is a US citizen - Adam Pearlman. Sounds to me like he's never set foot in a gun show.

2. If an individual has a clean record they'll pass a background check whether or not they have ties to terrorists. Just as an individual with close ties to another individual with multiple DUIs can buy a car (for that matter, the person with multiple DUIs could buy the car!) It would be a sad day when we institutionalize guilt by association - where is the line drawn and who's going to draw it?

3. Gun control laws don't work. All they do is keep firearms out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. Criminals don't obey laws and so the laws do not effect their ability to obtain firearms.

Figures this would come from Illinois.

The "research" organization compared a gun sale list with the no-fly list - and found matches.

All I'm saying is that "finding a match" does not necessarily mean that a firearm was sold to a terrorist.

I'm an example - you could find my name on a gun sale database, as well as the no-fly list --- but the no-fly list is actually another person - with my name and date-of-birth.

What straw man? I have posted a legitimate issue, whether or not the FBI should be able to stop purchases of weapons by those with strong ties to terrorism, which was the subject of legislation that the House Republicans voted down. You can continue with name calling or you can respond to the issue.

Nor can you readily find them in the private sector.
I have several FFL III freinds and they would never sell to anyone without a FFLIII licenses.

If the terrorists want weapons they will not be going to gun shows. Man you sound like the stupid ass media types that have no idea the difference between a .22 and a HI powered Assault Rifle.

So you are unable to have a discussion on whether or not you support the ability of those with ties to terrorism to freely purchase weapons, or whether the FBI should have the ability to regulate those purchases. Typical conservative post.

The other thing is, where are all these terrorists who use guns to kill people? Was the AZ shooter a terrorist and should all the people who had strong ties to him be banned from owning guns? I think there are many good American Muslims out there who unfortunately are related in some way to terrorists yet they are not themselves.

I wonder if Bill Ayers can buy a gun today?
