Home Depot Co-Founder Blasts Obama

That's what happens when you intentionally devalue the currency archer. The price of things go up. The companies are going to make twice as many dollars when the cost of the raw materials is doubled. The more relevant question than how many dollars in profit have they earned is what can they purchase with the greater number of devalued dollars?

Home depot will be on my list of companies to avoid, along with any other company that thinks they can blackmail the American public onto voting their way.

Are you freaking kidding me?

If a corporation has to pay more for raw materials, their profits go down, not up.

That is, unless they are cutting their cost of production in other ways, like slashing salaries and benefits maybe?

Yeah....everyone wants to work in a free country.....companies want to do business in a country as rich as America.....people want to live and work here because of the vast opportunities it offers.....but some don't want to pay their fair share for the privilege of being an American. I might suggest all you conservatives who think our country isn't worth what you pay in taxes and more.....go someplace else and see how well you fare. For the corporations.....you've already shipped the jobs overseas...maybe it's time you left America altogether if running a company here is so onerous....see if another country will buy your goods, can provide you with a better corporate climate. Guaranteed, another company will take your place and be grateful for the opportunity.....just as there are people all over the world who would gladly pay our taxes for the opportunity to live here....yet our own conservative citizens can only complain, and whine, and moan.....it's too much...it's too much. NO...it's not nearly enough. You have turned on your fellow Americans in order to feed your greed.....shameful.

The regressives here, and elsewhere, are useful tools for their masters as well. And I gotta hand it to them, they put the individual welfare of each and every citizen in each and every state, unless they happen to own a private jet, over and above the security and general welfare of all of the states that belong to the union.

Hmm, does this rise to the level of demagoguery that you seemingly condemn?

That brilliant article was solely based on the opinion of the author and presented as an opinion of that author. The blaze article however took excerpts from an interview by another journal and twisted into their commentary. For example, the HD executive no where used the term thuggery which has been seized upon by posters here, nor did any one cite a single regulation as being anti-business, despite what conifermtman implied.
Both articles were opinion pieces, but only the brilliant article that I cited presented itself as an opinion.

Yep, that is why it is very difficult to buy many products made in the USA anymore, including most electronics, clothes, etc.

<sarcasm>I guess our approach (and I am NOT limiting it to this Administration) has been real successful.</sarcasm>

You nailed it with GREED. I would only add stupidity. And the inability to understand basic math.

You nailed it with GREED.

Yep!

Many now think they are entitled to the income produced by others, rather than what they themselves produced.
