Everyone wants to think that their guy won.....well the only rabbit the Speaker didn't try and pull out of his hat were the tears. I thought he looked like a desperate man....he's got the country on one side saying "do something" he's got the tea party on the other saying "do nothing", he has democrats saying we need to get this done and compromise, and he has Republicans saying no, no, no....never compromise.....and then there is the president who just made him look like a fool who can't get his own party behind him. The guy deserves a good cry.

Here is what I heard - Obama threw the Republicans under the bus and did the fear, fear, fear thing, and Boehner talked to us like we were mentally retarded four year olds, making it seem like we MUST keep the rich rich.

Yeah, this is NOT going to end well.

Okay sure. I don't know why we don't just go with the Democrat's plan.

Oh wait a minute, are you telling me the Democrats have no plan? Seriously? Something as important as a national debt and default and they have no substantive plan. Sounds like great leadership to me.

Mind you, I'm not sitting in any of these closed door sessions, but I've heard they have concepts but no real plan.

Sounds like the same general plan, except they want to cut the loopholes for major corp and the very rich. Personally, I'm behind that.

I also know it'll fly like a lead turd.

What I have read onliine, it sounds about like the Republicans plan....lot of ideas, some specifics. The big difference is the time table, why the Republicans want to put the nation through this same scenario again in 6 months is beyond my understanding. Once every couple years is more than enough for this kind of grandstanding.

I could ask why the Democrats don't want to balance the budget. Would that be a fair question too? Why would we want to mess with the future like that?

The Democrats handed off a surplus... Which the GOP blew... Your question is a false question... It's not about not wanting to have a balanced budget... It's that an Amendment to the Constitution to do it is crazy.

Does the Republican plan balance the budget???????? Why not go with Obama's original plan which cut's the deficit by 4 trillion?
