C'mon-
Just like you the weathermen are over dramatizing this thing.....It was funny to see a Weather Channel weatherman acting like he was almost getting blown away and then some little kids showed up dancing right behind him during the rest of his segment. All of a sudden it did'nt look so dangerous lol
As Hurricane Irene batters the East Coast, federal disaster officials warn that Internet outages could force people to interact with other people for the first time in years. Residents are bracing themselves for the horror of awkward silences and unwanted eye contact.
FEMA advises: "Be prepared. Write down possible topics to talk about in advance. Sports...the weather. Remember, a conversation is basically a series of Facebook updates strung together."
rofllol Oh the horrors! Now what would happen if it was out for days? Commit hari kari?
IN NOVEMBER 2014, WE HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND ONE-THIRD OF THE SENATE! DONT BLOW IT!
“When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only whit man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.” Indian Chief Two Eagles

You crack me up most of the time VL...but a post like this confirms that Darwin's Laws are not infallible. Anyone who knows anything about hurricanes knows that you can ignore most of the hype on the television but you better respect the power of nature.
One of my cousins who runs a restaurant on Jersey has pledged to stay open until they cut power. It is a small town in the interior and a traditional meeting place so I can imagine they are packed this morning.
Some of the storm swell footage is amazing. Feel sorry for the stupid people who now have flooded cars.

Sorry guys..I dropped the ball on this thread..Someone (a very famous local Denverite) came by to watch the Donco game and one thing led to another and it turned into a late nighter...Just got up
Made a few calls to NYC and just like I told you..Irene was a joke there and the lemmings that evacuated need to be ashamed of themselves. How absurd. 30-40 MPH winds (like I said) shouldn't cause people to evacuate. Why i'm I the only one who can see whats going on? It's like I have special glasses on or something. Seriously. Half the country is so easily minipulated with fear. I don't wanna turn this political but dollars to doughnuts most of the evacuees in New York were republicans.

I guess he failed to take into account the drainage system will be flooded from all the rain. To call it a drainage system is a misnomer. The water doesn't drain. It is pumped out. Pumps run on electricity.
Even on a dry day, 13 million to 15 million gallons of water are removed by 200 pumps from the tunnels deep underground.
They're saying the subways will flood. It's just a question of how badly and how extensively.
I know..I just did'nt have the time to explain all that to Rockdoc. Of course they are used to dealing with water..Thats common sense, it underground afterall. My information is that the pumps can handle the 3 to 4 inches of rain New York will get..And the storm surge there in my opinion will be negligible at best.
Just called another source..The subways didn't flood
Just called a dear friend who lives on one of the top floors of the Trump World Tower..They said they had a great evening. They never lost power and they actually took drunken walks outside during the peak periods of the "storm". When talking to them yesterday afternoon I told them not to worry about. She said this today "imagine the nightmare the evacuees will go through trying to get back into the city later today"
I whole heartidly agree..Its a country of cowards and anyone who dies trying to evacuate or getting back from evacuating quite frankly deserves to die. It's survival of the fittest and dumb easily minipulated people should die before they reproduce and pass on those cowardly jeans to thier offspring.
