Vice Lord wrote: Its funny how people overreact to these types of things...During every one of the blizzards up here people run around checking on nieghbors (like they are gonna die if they can't get to Loaf n Jug for smokes for one day?) and shoveling thier decks, drives and walkways...While we just sit by the fire drinking hot cocoa and watching tv... And during the forest fires people were cutting down trees, franticly watering thier roofs or gathering belongnings for evacuation.. We did'nt do anything. We were told to evacuate but we did'nt. We just stayed home, sat on the deck sipping beers enjoying mother natures fireworks show. We had a great view of the fires..

People are so spastic..Like ants when you kick the ant hill down..They scurry around like crazy, like its the end of the world or something

In a statement, the MTA said the process of assessing damage from the storm cannot safely begin until the storm passes. Thousands of workers have been positioned with equipment at key locations, allowing the agency to begin the restoration slog when conditions permit.

“There are already reports of flooding and down trees across the region, and the storm surge and heavy rains may cause additional widespread flooding, mudslides, washouts, fallen trees and downed power lines that wreak havoc on the MTA’s signals, tracks, stations, under-river tunnels, catenary wires and other infrastructure,” the MTA said in a statement.

“Significant repairs” may be necessary, the agency warned, and restoration will be a “lengthy process

Vice Lord wrote: Just called a dear friend who lives on one of the top floors of the Trump World Tower..They said they had a great evening. They never lost power and they actually took drunken walks outside during the peak periods of the "storm". When talking to them yesterday afternoon I told them not to worry about. She said this today "imagine the nightmare the evacuees will go through trying to get back into the city later today"

I whole heartidly agree..Its a country of cowards and anyone who dies trying to evacuate or getting back from evacuating quite frankly deserves to die. It's survival of the fittest and dumb easily minipulated people should die before they reproduce and pass on those cowardly jeans to thier offspring.

Just heard from my source at our local King Soopers that there was actually a small run on bread there yesterday. They actually ran out of those cheap 99 cent loafs? Here in Colorado! WTF people!?

Sure it did..A little face saving going on there..You watch- They'll be running just fine for tommarows rush hour..I could find flooding at DIA somewhere and take some pic's and make it look and sound like the entire airport is under water..You're so gullible Wayne...Mark my words..Rush hour will go off without even the slightest hitch tommaro morning. How many inches of rain did they get? How many did they get last weekend? About the same

Like I said before..97.8% of the deaths from Irene occured during preperation and evacuation, and we should pick up a few more during the giant traffic jams caused by people returning today. I wonder how many people were raped because they slept in inland Highschool gyms with all sorts of white and brown trash? The media will now proceed to spoon feed us a bunch of dumb human and dog hero stories, but quite frankly i'm more interested in the horror stories. You learn more from those

Made a few calls to NYC and just like I told you..Irene was a joke there and the lemmings that evacuated need to be ashamed of themselves. How absurd. 30-40 MPH winds (like I said) shouldn't cause people to evacuate. Why i'm I the only one who can see whats going on? It's like I have special glasses on or something. Seriously. Half the country is so easily minipulated with fear. I don't wanna turn this political but dollars to doughnuts most of the evacuees in New York were republicans.

Lemmings

I don't know even one Democrat in New York that evacuated..And i've made about 18 phone calls this morning

Saving that one for posterity.

The flooding's greatest impact may be far from view. The challenge of New York is that so much of the electricity and other infrastructure is below the surface.

That means flooding could bring life in the city to a standstill even after waters recede.
