Obama's Chances of Being Elected?

Fair enough CriticalBill. I hope your assessment is right....that the right will not let America languish over the next 14 months in hopes that will increase the chances of a GOP candidate being elected. I fear you are wrong...but I will take a wait and see attitude and see what happens in congress in the coming months.

I do not doubt that many of the political class on the republican side feel that way. I do not think many of the tea party feel the same way. Remember the r's fear the tea party almost as much as the d's.

Another conservative who would rather see the country fail than have Obama be successful. Party before country...never thought I would see the day where being a Republican would be more important to some people than being an American.

If you are in the passenger seat and the driver Obama thinks fording a deep canal is smarter than going out of your way and take the bridge. I may hope he succeeds with the fording, but I would prefer he took the bridge, or we found a smarter driver.

Remember when Bush was running for his second term when most Dems were saying that he stole the first one? I distinctly remember the Dems saying "anyone but Bush" early on. I still don't think those same Democrats were willing to see this country go down the toilet just to get him out of office. I think the majority of people who think that way have direct ties to politicians or have their own special interests that they want regardless of what it costs the country. Thankfully, I believe more people have common sense.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

People may have common sense, but it's the guys in Congress with their own "special interests" who are making decisions on our behalf. More than a few of them have made it plain as can be that their number one priority is trying to make Obama fail.

Obama is the poster child for special interest.

The same went for the Dems who wanted Bush out at any cost. The point archer and I have been talking about what "the people" want. Do you think conservative voters want to see the country go down the toilet just to see another politician elected? Just like liberals, we own homes, have kids, work hard to pay the bills etc. If this administration's approach to the economy was working, I would be happy as a clam and so would anyone who's life is directly affected by the economy. People who would be happier with a failed economy just to see "their guy" in office must be the few who have a special interest that pays regardless of the economy.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

The Republicans did pass their own Jobs/Budget bill but Harry Reid didn't even allow the Senate to vote on it. Think that he is standing in the way of progress too? At least if our Senators were allowed to vote on it, we would know where they stand on the different ways of solving the current slump.

I'm sorry, but history doesn't support that claim. I seem to remember a heck of a lot of Republicans frothing at the mouth trying to impeach Clinton when the economy was humming along just fine. And not just politicians, either.

And there were Republicans talking about impeaching Obama before he even took office.
