This could be really bad for Cain.

And to put a fine point on it, they weren't driving to the hotel room when this is alleged to have happened. They were driving to Cain's office where he was going to "show her around."

Update: After saying Perry is behind the allegations, Cain now says the "Democratic Machine" is behind it. When questioned at the same news conference, he confided he had no proof for that statement, just "suspicions."

The quality, or lack thereof, of the candidates, on both sides, has frequently been mentioned on this forum.

With all the crap they have to put up with, who, in their right mind, would run for public office?

If your answer to that question is the same as mine, then that explains why we get what we get.

Just knowing that Cain wants to raise taxes for the middle class and lower (the majority of tax payers) while giving huge tax cuts to the wealthy with his 9-9-9 plan is enough for me to reject him.

So far as the allegations go, once a politician gets multiple accusers it usually seems to turn out that they are toast, IMO. And Cain hasn't been very honest before when confronted.

And it's not just politics as usual. Bush and Obama haven't had such multiple accusations. First Cain said it was coming from Perry, now he blames the Dems. And he's going into the politics of personal destruction by attacking the accuser ala Clinton. The guy has no clue.

Who here still wants him to be our next president?

Who here really wants ANY of the current candidates, both sides, to be our next President?

I'm going to watch the debates and then decide. We've still got another year of this crap to look forward to.

OK, after this lady finally came out. One who got paid, I believe them. So is this woman a liar too? Read her bio. She is extremely respectable and she said..... Kraushaar told ABC News that she wanted to "do a joint press conference if the other women are interested." On Friday, Bennett said during a press conference that "Mr. Cain knows the specifics" of the harassment complaint that she had filed against him in 1999. "It had very specific incidents in it. If he chooses not to remember or to not acknowledge those, that's his issue." The NRA had waived the confidentiality agreement that barred her from discussing the complaint, but she elected not to go public.

She is married, a mother, an auther of a childrens book, a great government job. WHY would she want to do this to herself unless it was true?

If they do a joint press conference, then Cain will have to step down.

I don't think Cain will step down, no matter what comes out....he has that arrogant quality that tells him he just can't get caught.

There's really not enough information to make a criminal case here - but there's a pattern of allegations that would make me think twice about voting for this candiate.

This guy seems to be someone other than the baseball, hot dog, apple pie, and Chevrolet person that his handlers would like us to think he is.

A pattern of allegations? Could it be a pattern of political slander designed to take him out early? Did you hear the presser? I only heard part of it where he went all in and denied ever knowing her. I heard something about a lie detector test but had to get out of the car. Did he offer to take one?

I want some facts before I write him off. Got something other than a pattern of allegations.

Someone on FB said they just got a tweet from the LA Times that the ladies will hold a press conference. That could be bad.

The women whose complaints Herman Cain attacked in a news conference Tuesday are planning to counter with a news conference of their own, attorneys for the women said Tuesday night.

"My client has decided to hold a joint news conference with as many of the women who complained of sexual harassment by Herman Cain as will participate," said Joel P. Bennett, the Washington lawyer for Karen Kraushaar, whose harassment claims against Cain got the current controversy rolling after a report of it appeared last week in Politico.
