Conservatives: Out & Proud?

I'm amazed too... And you'd be surprised at how many companies I just don't go back to when they feel it's necessary to cram their political beliefs down my throat. I rarely engaged in an argument... I just don't go back. I hope it was worth it to them.

So many of you smile and nod, if not cheer, when you get some BS forwarded email claiming that a Republican business owner told his employees he was closing down and it was all Obama's fault. Yet you find it the fault of the business owner when he shuts down and attributes it more to Republican policies?

Some of you have your heads so far up your butts it's no wonder you can't see stuff that is right in front of you.

rofllol :rofl rofllol

Yeah, and you're a shining example of open mindedness and bi-partisan thoughts.

You might find I was much more so than it appears from the place you're looking from. It's pretty dark there, I imagine.

I'm sure there's light outside the bucket on my head, but I'm not gonna peek to find out. It's comfy in here.

I think it's good that businesses express their political leanings- I use this information to make decisions about where I spend my hard earned money.

If for instance, if I was in the market for a musical instrument and discover that the business owner had put up the statement about not being taxed too much- but is going out of business because the government didn't spend another 700 billion dollars- I'd walk out the door and find somewhere else to spend my money- unless I was able to get the instrument in a fire sale for pennies on the dollar like LJ did.

And I wouldn't walk out because the owner was a total leftie- I would walk out because it's obivious that the business owner has no clue about the economic world he operates in.

One of the reasons his customers don't have the money to spend on instruments is because they ARE overtaxed- or their industry is over-regulated- or because they don't have employment- or are not fully employed.

One big reason for this is government policy who's regulations, restrictions and tax policy discourage business and economic expansion. See- it's not just about the music store owners personal experience- but also the combined experiences that affect his entire customer base.

The cost of hiring an employee and the ultimate profitability of a business goes far beyond the hourly wage- and extends deep into policies like labor laws which include minimum wage and even into sexual harassment litigation costs.

A shallow view of economics can kill you in business- one needs to think about all the other businesses that create the customer base.

There's a cute little hippy cafe in Evergreen that a friend of mine worked in- so I went in there a few times to eat when my friend was serving there. Looking around I saw the owner had a book called "Sorry Everybody"- maybe you have heard about it. It was full of pictures of people who are politcally left - and were apologizing to the world that Bush had been re-elected.

I had to tell my friend that I could not eat at the place anymore- I have better places to support with my money. Over the next few years- I ran across many other people who felt the same way and stopped patronizing this cafe. I have even heard from a few employees who left and got a different job because they caught grief about the owners politics from other customers - and the employees themselves did not agree with the owners leftist agenda.

The place is well suited for a Socialist- but I happen to be a Capitalist- so I go somewhere else to eat. It's good to know- I'm glad the owner put it out there- it's her right to do it- and my right not to support a business who's politics I dis-agree with.

I don't hold back on my political opinion, I don't care who is offended. I like to start conservations with people I meet with "So what do you think of that communist Obama?" It's a quick way to discover the character of people- some people are offended right away- I love finding this out within a minute of meeting someone- saves me from wasting my time!

Other people can discuss politics and disagree without getting nasty- but I have no time for closed minded people who feel pain anytime someone has a political opinion that differs from their agenda.

I also think it's healthy to make your opinions known- so these lefties know that we conservatives are out here. You can't get people to think unless we give them somthing to think about! Every chance I get I try to spread the word about conservative free market values. The country is being destroyed by the indoctrinated left- get the word out!

Don't be afraid to speak out- the left has been doing it since the 1960's.

Most people I work with know I am conservative but I don't discuss it much. I don't fear backlash but I do know others who do worry about that. I have seen a few people who will turn down conservative talk radio because they don't want others to know their political affiliation.

And Liberals, do you ever keep your lefty leanings under wrap? Or worry about being persecuted for your beliefs? Won't put political bumperstickers on the car?

I have a couple pro-gun car window decals but they tend to be known only to other gun owners and not like a NRA sticker.

I worked for a Union for 25 years- we had people that did'nt want to pay dues, and if they filled out a form, they did'nt have to but were were still required to represent them if they got in trouble..And we also had some religious right wing retards that did'nt like the candidates we supported, and they let us know it..Well at any givin time 20 people were being fired for say attendance reasons or other rule violations...If he was one of those right wing guys, he was f#@!king gone..We'd make deals that they could fire this guy if they kept that guy. Did it all the time..That guy wanted to be on his own, so we gave him what he wanted..And we could actually ask the company to terminate snitches and they'd do it in exchange for something they wanted, like a local ageement to change the lunch times to better fit the schedule..And it did'nt matter to the company if the guy was the best worker in the world..Companies don't care about people!

And those kind of conservative workers, if they stayed around were constantly buying new tires and windshields

I always thought union types were just close-minded thugs that couldn't express themselves in any better way than vandalism. Thanks for reinforcing my opnion.

As a conservative, I'd respond with "I don't discuss politics with extremists, Let's talk about something else."

I don't waste my time talking with anyone that spits out inflamatory labels just to get a reaction.

And what's really laughable is that you seem to have no clue that you perfectly fit the description of that person you have "no time for".

I don't feel any pain when you lefties spout your trash on here- and I don't try to get you to stop it- so I don't know what you mean.
