Nobody said anything remotely resembling a condemnation of "making judgements", either. All "people", not just "wise men" and "intelligent men", make judgements. That's a given in virtually any society. Are you saying I don't have the "intelligence to determine a compassionate need" and keep that need "apart from a destructive want"? If so, it's rather presumptuous and condescending on your part, particularly given the fact nobody that I've seen in this thread or anywhere else has verified, though ANY reliable, trustworthy, and/or factual source(s) that food stamp fraud is, in fact, a REAL problem.

Statics to prove what... that living off the dole is GOOD for someone? You're crazy. Even if that person has an honest dire need for public services, it's still not good for them, and the sooner they can get on their own two feet and start taking care of themselves, the better. If you want statistics, then YOU need to show use how it's good to be on the public dole. Anyone with intelligence and common sense knows better.

Even if all 50 million of these people were 100 percent honest and receiving these benefits because of dire need, there is STILL SOMETHING WRONG. When there is 1 out of 6 Americans on the public dole... there is a problem.

A socialist like Zhawke see this as good, as what government should be doing, the government exists only to redistribute money from your pocket to someone else's.

Chewed on it - spit it out as irrelevant. Again, the challenge I posed is to provide PROOF that food stamp fraud is rampant, not that nearly 46 million of our friends and neighbors are, by many accounts, in need of public assistance.

Now what I did say it that if there are 46 million people on food stamps in this country (that's about 1 in every 8th citizen) then there is something wrong with our country. There IS something wrong with our country - that's the one issue being debated that I believe virtually everyone can agree on. How to go about rectifying that issue is open to negotiation and discussion.
