For Sheriff candidates-
1.How many Internal Affairs investigations have you been the subject of?
2.For transparency-are you willing to provide your Internal Affairs and your SSR records for examination?
Two things here- I think that internal affairs investigations aren't public and can't be released publicly, but we should check into that to be sure.
Also, I think a college education for a cop is irrelevant. I'd like to know:
"What would you rather hire, a deputy with a college degree and no life experience, or one without a degree but lots of street smarts."
That's an extremely telling question for me, because frankly most of the great cops I've known don't have a degree.
Graves' own brochure tells of his plans to release all IAs-" Implement an Internal Affairs program for PCSO...All records of law enforcement personnel will be opened to the public when a formal request is submitted under the Freedom of Imformation Act." He further says "Upon completion of the investigation, the complete record of the investigation will be released."
Sounds like a plan to me. Let's start with his.
Hey everyone....The debate is tomorrow night. Please try to attend but if you cannot, please submit your questions here and we will try to have them answered.
