He wasn't asked to sing the musical score for Lord of the Rings. He was asked to sing a RELIGIOUS song.

The liberal tap dancing on this thread is the best show I've seen since "A Chorus Line".

Sure, he can opt not to sing the song and can quit if he objects to the material. Where the problems arises is when he goes to the media to make an issue out of it. Like someone said before, his actions are self-righteous and he is acting like a spoiled child who wants to live in a bubble where everything adheres to his personal belief structure. He didn't want to excuse himself from singing the song, he wanted the choir to not sing the song, imposing his narrow viewpoint on the rest of the choir. He could have just stepped off of the risers when the song came up and solved the problem, but instead he really wanted to make a stink about it to showcase his superior beliefs to the public. As he says, "I don’t want to come across as a bigot or a racist, but..." When someone says but, they are saying that everything before the but is pure BS.

Now we are tacking... stepping in it too many times requires tacking from the original statements by the liberals on this thread. Before you know it, we will be talking about how the kid can't really sing, he's untalented and that's why he quit.

Like I said... by midnight liberal heads will be exploding.

So, what do you think of someone like Michael Newdow?

I have just as many issues when athiests try to force their beliefs on others.
Or deny others who would want to practice their religion in a non-threatening way.

Ok.....so what ever a progressive does you can do better? or worse? I do so love the "you do it too" defense of bad behavior. Who knew conservatives looked to liberals to set their behavior standards.

Just making a point.

So, what's the point?

I fail to see the problem here.

Lets see they banned prayer from school, no problem there, kids can't wear a flag on their shirt to school of fear of upsetting someone, kids can't ride their bike with an American flag on it of fear it might upset someone, A court decided that prayer is not allowed at graduation as part of the program because one family did not like it. That is the short list.

So because the young man who believes it is wrong, which by all aspects of the rest it is, goes to the media to promote his cause. What is the damn difference to the rest of the stuff that has happened. NOTHING

Personally it should not be allowed in the choir of a public school. If prayer is not allowed then why is a religious song.

Yes.. Islam is such a "peaceful religion".. We should sing all about them.
Lets see.. As of today, islamic terrorists have committed 18,437 deadly terror attacks worldwide SINCE 9/11..
And.. Muslims have murdered 270 million people in the name of their 'god' in the 14 hundred year history of islam..
