Voting is a right, buying beer is a privilege. Big difference.

By the way, the DoJ has blocked the Wisconsin version of the law...And Pennsylvania is about to sign a similar one into law, and the DoJ is prepared to shut that down too. I guess the goons at ALEC are finally getting busted for their flying-below-the-radar racist voter-suppression garbage. It's so tough to sell a "solution in search of a non-existent problem."

Buying beer is frivolous, but everyone sees the necessity for showing ID.
Voting is very serious and should be treated in that light. Only those eligible to vote should be allowed to vote. Providing ID serves the public benefit. Not providing it allows an opportunity all sorts of shenanigans.

Please explain how requiring an ID will deny anyone of their right to vote.

(And remember, it was the Democrats who created all of the states' laws to deny to blacks the right to vote.)

It seems to me that this is just Barry borrowing a page from the Chicago book of politics, vote early and often. Help out your recently dead relatives and neighbors by casting a few votes on their behalf while you are at it.

It worked back in 1960:

"However, a special prosecutor assigned to the case brought charges against 650 people, which did not result in convictions.[19] Three Chicago election workers were convicted of voter fraud in 1962 and served short terms in jail.[19] Mazo, the Herald-Tribune reporter, later said that he found names of the dead who had voted in Chicago, along with 56 people from one house.[19] He found cases of Republican voter fraud in southern Illinois, but said the totals didn't match the Chicago fraud he found.[19] After Mazo had published four parts of an intended 12-part voter fraud series documenting his findings which was re-published nationally, he says Nixon requested his publisher stop the rest of the series so as to prevent a constitutional crisis.[19] Nevertheless, the Chicago Tribune wrote that "the election of November 8 was characterized by such gross and palpable fraud as to justify the conclusion that [Nixon] was deprived of victory."[19] Had Nixon won both states, he would have ended up with exactly 270 electoral votes and the presidency, with or without a victory in the popular vote."

Algore gave it another shot back in 2000 but was less successful.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

How about buying medicine, like allergy pills and cough syrup? And because voting is a privelige, you should hold up your end of the bargain by supplying photo ID.

As I stated, voting is a right, not a privilege and should not be burdened. Racists throughout history of our great country have tried to burden this right by "citizenship tests", poll taxes, property ownership, etc. in order to deny those rights to minorities and the poor. This is just another attempt to disenfranchise minorities and the lower income. Voting should not be subject to a caste society, and should be available to all rightful citizens.

There has not been shown a problem requiring this "solution".
