This 96 year old woman might have difficulty getting to the Driver Service Center. Glad to see you're a compassionate Republican.

Republicans already HAVE their IDs? ALL republicans? What a joke. Just where are those statistics located? I'd love to read them.

Funny - my grandparents managed to get ID's well into their 90's- but then again, they were responsible conservatives.

If this old woman can't get to the Driver Service Center one time- one single time in her life to get an ID- how the hell is she gonna show up to vote in all the elections?

Oh- sounds like she's a democrat to me all right. That's an ASSumption I don't mind making at all.

And you represent everything I despise about the teabagger mentality and "compassionate conservatives" of today.

This thread has taken me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and left me entirely drained. There are some people who believe that forums can change people's lives. This thread has probably changed my life. After seeing the terrible ordeal endured by this poor woman, I am now less worried by everyday, mundane problems and more focused on the true meaning of life. This thread helps me understand the human condition and I now have to question my role in the universe.

Photo ID For Voting Proposal Advances In CO
Posted: 9:57 AM Mar 13, 2012

"DENVER (AP) -- A long-debated requirement that voters show their photo IDs when they cast ballots is moving ahead in Colorado.

A day after similar photo ID requirements were blocked by legal challenges in Texas and Wisconsin, a Republican-controlled committee in the Colorado House voted Tuesday to send a voting ID bill to the full chamber.

Last year, a photo ID voter bill passed the Republican House but was defeated in the Democratic Senate. Republicans generally consider photo IDs a necessary safeguard against voting fraud. Democrats argue that voter impersonation is rare but that photo ID requirements could hurt people without IDs, especially the elderly and needy."

Bless their little pointed heads... Isn't it great that the likelihood of it making it past the Democratic-controlled Senate is slim-and-none...

Ooopsie.

There is always next year to retake the State Senate.

Consider this, I hear voting it a right, well according to the Second Amendment guarantees your right to own firearms, but they make all kinds of rules denying your rights to own guns.
So since I don't need photo ID to vote, only sign something saying I am not lying, it should be the same when you are trying to buy a firearm, instead of the current requirement of 2 background checks, both state and national.

And no poll tax? Currently when I buy guns and ammo, I have to pay a 10% federal excise tax, this should be banned under your argument.
