Spoken like the geocentric dumbass you are...

France, in fact most of Europe, thinks Americans are stupid. We want everyone to be armed, we want to pay for our own healthcare, at the risk of going bankrupt paying for it, we get two weeks vacation, work till we're almost 70 before we can retire. We live to work and don't work to live as they do. We squander natural resources and use gas like it will never run out. We obsess over the tin foil hat conspiracies like Obama's citizenship or secret Muslim religion.

They have better food, better wine, better women.

I see- just a matter of time before we got that America hater attitude in here. If France is such a great place to be- what in the hell are you doing here?

JSG- please- don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out!

Personally I think it's a matter of preference- I like my right to be armed. It comes from a tradition that goes way back- to living under the thumb of a european king.

I also like the idea of paying for ones own welfare- which includes my own health care. I don't want to be lumped in with everyone else in a government run system that will not and can not provide the best care. This country sets the standard in quality healthcare - and develops state-of-the-art care including the worlds best test equipment, drugs and treatment. Not everyone can afford the latest and greatest- and I'm OK with that.

I don't expect to drive the worlds best car either- or live in the biggest house- or dine in a 5 star resturant every night, but overall I live a very high standard of living compared to the rest of the world. I work hard for that standard of living.

Your idea of collectivist health care would lower the quality of health care that I recieve.

Yes- we only get 2 weeks vacation (I get 3 now)- and don't retire till we are 65- but don't blame the lazy europeans for that- it's our Federal government who takes about 35% of what we earn in taxes and fees over our careers. If it were not for the extra 12 years I have to work to pay taxes to a welfare state- I'd already be retired!

I'd rather be here working and building a retirement for myself than rely on the government to pay for me- and just so you know- I have the right to live and work anywhere in Europe and I choose to live here.

Yes- there's some hot women over there and some good food, in fact I may take a year off and drink cappuccino and eat pasta and play with hot Italian women- but after that I'm comin back to the good ol' USA.

My cousins have more time to sit around and enjoy life- that's somewhat true but it's because of limited opportunity in many cases- why work your ass off when all the profit goes to government?

Fact is we have hot women here too, and a decent cup of cappuccino too, along with the worlds highest standard of living.

My Italian cousins would love to come here and start a business and become sucessful- somthing that is almost impossible to do in Italy anymore.

They dream of that opportunity- but like I have told them, the same ideas of government regulation & control that make it hard to get ahead in Italy are spreading like wildfire here in the states- it won't be long before getting ahead is impossible here too.

And as for retirement- do you know how much money a retired person gets in France or Italy? It ain't much. It's less than what we get for SS here- many retirees are pinching pennies over there- and it's going to get worse.

Like I said- if you count on the government for everything- you will be sorry you ever did- we are much better off saving for our own lives. Their entitlement system is falling apart- they are broke like us.

I'm sure the liberal women on this board would agree with you.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Anyone here think that comment wasn't coming from the Right?

My statement in no way equates to me HATING America. The last time I checked, America still allows and defends my right to express my opinion. Being able to share and consider diverse opinions is what I think makes America great.

Don't lie- you don't like America very much do you?

I find this attitude very common among the lazy- and the losers.

When did liking one thing, or country, mean you hate every other thing, or country? I love milk, does that mean I hate every other beverage? I also love Canada, spent many good years there, but that does not equate to my hating America......I love my daughter, but that doesn't mean I hate my son. You need to take a logic course Bear.

He needs some new knee-jerk insults... That "socialsit/hate-America" crap went out with McCarthy in the 50's... (Unless, of course, you're Allen West in Florida and didn't get the memo...)

I LOVE America. I also love certain things about other countries. That's why I travel. It helps expand the mind to other cultures and attitudes. You should try it sometime.
