LJ, you got a really nice compliment. Why don't you show a little good will back?

Take a step back and look again. The current tone from both extremes is the result of a long escallation. One side pushes a personal insult farther, and the other side responds in kind. I don't think either side started it, but both sides are guilty of perpetuating it. Both sides will claim it's in response to the other. Far Right begets Far Left and vice versa. Both sides are correct, and both sides are guilty. It's like a local example of how divided the country is, and how a considerable number of people are over reacting and escallating arguments that should be simple disagreements.

Y'know, except for me. I'm a freakin saint.

Another jab. The way I look at it, you can be part of the problem or part of the solution

Not meant as a jab at you at all. I meant exactly what I said.

I agree both sides. But even my tacky and desperate thread was taken wrong. I really was talking about his tactics in the election coming from a strategy perspective. We should be able to talk like adults without walking on eggshells. Respect of both sides is what is wanted here. IMO

Give me a break we all know politics has less to do with truth and way more to do with looks. We should accept that.

Just ofr the record I do not believe all Dems are atheist, pot smoking anarchists. So, when you see a criticism just know I have a different philosophy.

It is absolutely on both sides.

No - I'm not observing 9/11. 9/11 is about as meaningful as Christmas.

I'm sick and tired of parasitic head-bobbing red-tie cultists hijacking a rightfully somber moment --- for political bull.

I won’t listen to speeches, and won’t be contributing to some blasphemous pseudo-charity. I won't be liking any dorky "never forget" links
that my so-called friends post on facebook.

What will I do?
I will cry for the dead, and will pray for the lost. I will pause to mourn the innocence my children lost on that day.
I will focus my eyes on peace instead of vengeance, and will pray with all my being, that we never witness such horror again.

What part of "Thank you...again...for real.." did you not understand?

What part of "someone else's attempt to muddy the water" (i.e., YOURS) did you not understand?

My regard for the right-wing, particularly as represented on this forum, has led me to believe that, in fact, "all Republicans are out to hurt every living thing and only care about themselves and money." There are some on here that I regard as certifiable sociopaths. The more I see of the statements by the GOP candidates themselves, and their surrogates, the more I'm convinced that it's true. I don't need you to modify my beliefs, or moderate my responses.

By now most on here know that if they want to play the "drive-by insults" game, I give as good as I get. T'will always thus be so.

Fine, I give up. I was hoping you would say something nice back. Is this really all about you? I will skip over your posts because we are just too far apart in understanding. I really take offense to this post on this day of all days. I am sorry I know I just gave a nice speech about acceptance but I cannot believe you just said this. I think I get it. As I said my soul searching on all people having good will is going to have to go on.

I DID say something nice back...To the person that offered in the first place... And when it became necessary for them to say it again, (because of your snarky intervention, "Did you really believe that?"), I offered something nice back, AGAIN.

Spare me your self-imposed "sainthood" in looking for some sort of kumbaya-moment... On this forum it's not going to happen, and "acceptance" is given when it's offered... I've seen nothing in what you've posted today that would lead me to believe that you have anything in mind other than trying to act as some sort of mediator.

I mourn the dead from 9/11...You know what I mourn even more? The GOP's blockage of legislation to provide the survivors and first responders with support and help over some garbage issue about "procedure" that kept them from being able to tack a bunch of irrelevant amendments to the bill. I'm angry. I'm fed up with people like Bill Bennett going "doe-eyed" on Meet the Press and saying "Bush kept us safe"...(if you ignore 9/11)... I'm fed up with snarky nut-bags constantly going on about Obama being a "Muslim", a "Kenyan", a "socialist", a "collaborator with terrorists" (give me a break), doesn't care about our country; wants to take "In God We Trust" off of the currency; "He's an Arab"...(At least McCain had the cajones to say, "No...He isn't"...But apparently Mitt-the-Twit has no such backbone OR cajones)...

Yeah... I'm P.O.'d ... If you're looking for kumbaya moments, you're in the wrong forum....

I was not being snarky you just took it that way. I thought you could say something nice back. Yeah, it is not for me to tell you to do anything. I realize who you are and my apology for getting in your way.

I don't respect your comments or your tactics but until SC decides that only some can speak their mind, then I AM NOT IN THE WRONG FORUM. I think I realize you are a jerk and I am not being snarky. I didn't realize it before. Once again, sorry for getting in the way of your attacks. I am pretty pissed myself now.

I agree...however, I sent those dear to me a message today thanking them for their love and friendship as well as letting them know they are appreciated. It is important to me to let "my people" know that...it may all be taken away in a half a second.
